Hi :) You just met the famous white whale. There are two episodes it seems to me, a character said that it was necessary to make a detour because of the fog, because this one announced the presence of the white whale, Subaru having left earlier, he arrived just when this one and the fog arrives. So yeah, he's in deep shit and will probably die, but at least he'll have learned a lot in this loop ^^.
