Think of the yellow eyes as a demon, the demon that resurrected Art at the beginning. In this movie, in this form it was more of an observer watching its resurrected creation. You will see what it does in the 3rd one...I won't spoil...😁

2024-08-03 16:13:08 +0000 UTCAppreciate the comment and recommending August Underground. I'll check it out. Gore (brutally realistic or comically over the top) doesn't bother me. What I mean by ick is when a film leaves me feeling like it has nothing to say besides showing gratuitous blood, guts and body parts. (aka Gore Porn) Terrifier 1 felt like that to me the first time but of course Art won me over once I gave it a re-watch. As for 'based on true events' films your take is valid however that label has never meant anything to me. All are majority fiction to the point where every film can make that claim since they all have humans with names walking around talking and doing things.

2024-08-03 08:57:41 +0000 UTCExtreme gore horror has never really given me the ick (i recommend the August Underground trilogy (not for Caitlin) if you like super extreme films). Films that tend to give me the ick are more "based on real events" films like Boys dont cry or Girl next door.

I get a sense that Caitlin, like me, have a love hate relationship with this series. Art is so interesting and funny I love watching his antics and mannerisms but hate that these films leave me feeling ick. Like it'd be better if I hadn't watched it. I mean I've seen Salò, A Serbian Film etc. and didnt feel like that. Anyway I could shit on this movie all day but in the end I watched it and probably will again. Thanks?

David does an amazing job at making Art's movements so animated and funny. Sienna is badass and one of my favourite final girls. It's definitely not a franchise that is for everyone, but i cannot wait for the 3rd. Now I'm going to go eat my lunch and then watch this reaction, haha.

2024-07-26 00:12:01 +0000 UTCThe director has said in some interviews that the third one will provide answers to the all the questions that you posed in your debrief (same questions I think all of us had lol). Art is just so iconic with the blend of brutality and comedy. It’s a nice change of pace from the stale slashers that have been put out over the last few years. Also, fun fact: Lauren LaVera (Sienna) hates clowns so that’s fun for her hah. But they let her actually do the stunts where she got to whip Art to let out the frustrations of it all

2024-07-25 19:05:14 +0000 UTCThis is one of those movies that does the whole horror comedy element right, where you can’t help but laugh at certain parts but it doesn’t really break the tension in any way, I think that’s why there is so much hype off these movies, they are fun to watch despite the extreme gore Also interesting fact the dude that plays art the clown is an actual trained mime in real life

Thought you'd definitely like this one better in terms of it having more of a plot than the first and of course the more bizarre yet fun elements. I really wonder how much they're gonna top THAT kill in the third one but I've heard a lot of good things so far

The scene where Brooke is telling her fuck boy about Sienna and her whole dad’s mental problem. She goes on to say how much sienna has been through. I would have LOVED a character moment where Brooke kind of goes off and is like “she’s actually really strong. And I LEFT her alone.” And then proceeds to go search for sienna. Just to give her a little bit of redemption and make you feel worse for her death.
