Noah Kahan - Busyhead Album Reaction

Comments

looks like i get a gold star ⭐️

Did he ever say he doesn't like "I was/I am", though? The lyrics etc. feel more much like Stick Season and I feel like it's less pop than Busyhead.

S

"Cynic" not being in your top 5 is a crime, it's a bop and a half. 👀

S

Yes, definitely do the rest of his discography, maybe you can combine "Cape Elizabeth" and "I was/I am" into one video.

Let’s be honest we’re all ready to have you dive in to Noah Kahan! And we’re beyond ready to watch!!

You absolutely have to listen to the rest of Cape Elizabeth! And I was/I am

Would absolutely LOVE your reaction to his Cape Elizabeth EP! I've been listening to Noah since he literally released his first song on spotify but that EP is what made me go from just being a big fan to him being one of my top 3 artists. It has some of his best songwriting imo, it's just so special! I would also love an I Was/I Am reaction, it has some of my all time favourite Noah songs, but if you wanna listen on your own that's completely fine of course 🥰❤️🫶🏻

just finished the video, seconding that i’d love your reactions to i was/i am and/or his other eps!! editing to add: i know in my noah lore comment i said i was/i am is sort of a weird album for him, but don’t interpret that as “bad.” it has some of my favorite songs from him still 🫶🏼

I think you should definitely do videos reacting to I was/I am and the Cape Elizabeth EP!! But totally understandable if you want to listen and digest on your own time:)

ok i’m about to dump a lot of noah lore on you because i think it adds context to the album (especially cynic, young blood, mess, etc.), so hopefully somebody finds interesting. you’re totally right that hurt somebody is the weakest song on the album, even though it has the most streams. this album leads up to his next album, i was/i am, which is more pop heavy. i actually love that album, but noah himself really doesn’t like it. he never play songs from it and he really doesn’t even mention it ever because it was kind of forced by his label. after that album, because he felt like people only wanted pop songs from him, partially because his record label was pushing him for that and partially because they always ended up the most successful, he wanted to quit music. the success wasn’t worth not being passionate about his work. during covid he moved home and took a break from music, but then released his ep cape elizabeth, which is a lot more like stick season, and he calls it his last effort before quitting music entirely. cape elizabeth did really really well, and that gave him the confidence to release the album stick season. part of the reason he loves that album so much isn’t just because it’s the most successful, but because it’s the one that he resonates with the most as an artist and so having it also be successful and not just pop music like he initially thought he would have to do is really special to him.

Noah’s label was pressuring him to record way more music like Hurt Somebody, and he was like “Screw that” and wrote Stick Season 🙌

i would love an i was/i am reaction, i love that album so much, but if you'd rather listen to it on your own time, that's understandable too! and his eps are amazing as well (also, ik this might be niche but the lines "she's the sunset in the west/she is sleep when i need rest" in sink have always reminded me of the raven boys series when a character says "how do i know i love her? because i can sleep after i talk to her". i find that such a good description of someone who's just comfort to you)
