Five Nights At Freddy's - Movie Reaction

I’ve always interpreted the fort building as a nice way to give the animatronic children souls a chance to be kids. Also, yes, my name really is Vanessa and my favorite characters are William Afton and Michael Afton, Vanessa, Freddy Fazbear and Ballora.

i think the reason for that is that the main audience is rather young and they wanted to keep it "serious" without making it to scary or grusome. the death are implied to be pretty brutal which is enough "horror" for kids i guess but not for adults expecting to see an actual horror movie.

so i am 70min in to the reaction. i know like verry verry little about the fnaf game lore. my guess based on the movie is that the guy who made the robots and owns the place was/is a child Predator and killed the kids (maby including the brother and thats why he recognized the family name ?!). the kids possess the robots and want their piece and hunt everyone who they think want to harm them or attacks them ?

I just joined your Patreon but have been following your YouTube for a little over a year, my youngest son (yes, I'm old lol) is 18 and he LOVED playing FNAF, all of them and I watched him play all of them so watching this movie with him was EVERYTHING fantastical, anyways, I'm gonna fathom your reaction now cause I commented at the beginning lol

Saw this in the theater over Thanksgiving holiday. There just wasn't enough funny for it to be funny and not enough scary for it to be scary. Figured out who the main baddy was very easily but maybe that was supposed to happen. I give it mildly entertaining. Willy's Wonderland was better.

When William Afton wiped the knife before the reveal, it's the same way Stu wipes the knife every time in Scream. I assume they wanted to pay homage to the character.

I just recently got into the world of Five Nights at Freddy's. I agree with you whole-heartedly that this was just mindless fun. I do love Josh Hutcherson and was glad to see him on screen. I've been a huge Matthew Lillard fan ever since Scream, so great to see him have a major role in a film again. I love MatPat so it was great to see his cameo at the beginning of the movie as the waiter in the diner. I'm sure he must have some Film Theory on this on his channel, which now makes me want to go check!!! As always, great reaction and look forward to next one!

When I watched this in the cinema, for the first 10 minutes everyone was speaking in a robotic voice and we were wondering if it could somehow be part of the story. At some point cinema staff came in and fixed the audio.

Willy's Wonderland is a bit better. Might just be cause Nic Cage, or that I never really play FNaF enough to look at the lore.

matpat, who has a cameo in the movie, has some really well explained lore videos if u wanna look into it! but purple guy, william afton, spring bonnie/springtrap, and steve whatever his name is in the movie are indeed all the same character. and the blonde boy Mike talked to in his dreams was golden freddy. another comment explained too about the fort scene and how the ghosts are still children! adding to that, the animatronics, in game lore at least, tend to be more protective and less hostile around children but the opposite around adults since they are children who were harmed by an adult.

i think the fort scene is very important almost like a reminder that at the end of the day, those animatronics are still kids who want to do kid things (like building a fort) it does seem silly but - it’s a nice way to show they’re still children who don’t mean any harm (when not under the influence of williams “spell”)
