2023-09-12 03:55:34 +0000 UTCSo idk ALL the lore myself but I saw in a comment on some yt/patreon reaction to this that apparently the baby at the end there in teenage dream is Dan’s daughter, and apparently Olivia said at some point that when things got loud and crazy in life, seeing the innocence and everything of his daughter and playing with her is what kept her grounded, and that makes that little outro hit even more 🥲

I really liked that she went even more into the pop-punk/rock vibe musically and seemingly experimented a bit more with ways to perform the songs, and the song-writing is still so so good. (Also, I just learned that her father is a therapist which makes the "I am my father's daughter so maybe I could fix him" line even more funny)

It to me is about being obsessed with the idea of being “the perfect woman” she’s everything that Olivia is not but what she wants to be so much so that she consumes her every thought and action. It kinda sounds like a creepy obsession lullaby. I love it.

Her music is known to have that “teenage” vibe to it, and with her not being a teenager anymore, I think the line “I’m sorry that I couldn’t always be your teenage dream” is towards the fans that she isn’t that teenager we know and love anymore😭😭
