Halloween - Full Movie Reaction

this movie FASCINATES me for so many reasons. also frustrates me for so many more lol

Comments

Any chance you’ll do Halloween 2018?

Lenny

I've gotta add if you're at all able to, find a copy of the movie with the commentary from Jamie Lee and John Carpenter for the.. 35th anniversary edition, I believe. It's almost my preferred way to watch it anymore.

Brandy

do 2018 and Kills too, those are fun :)

Mac Z

I definitely think you should continue the franchise. Halloween 2 picks up exactly where this one left off and even takes it up a notch with the kills.

I will say, as someone watching this video months later, that I personally really enjoyed Halloween (2018) and Halloween Kills. I recommend those two at most.

I agree with the comment from Robbie Corrie, however seeing as your not going to do all of the films in the franchise I would love to see you react to Halloween 2018, as I think it would be really interesting to hear your thoughts after seeing the original. As a movie buff with an inclination towards horror films I've seen all the Halloween films and while they were enjoyable by some degree the franchise as a whole retcons a lot of stuff that it (imo) just gets too convoluted and messy. Also if you continue with classics there's a few that I recommend, of course only if you'd want to and if you haven't seen them- The Exorcist (CW), The Omen, A Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 3 and 7, The Evil Dead (CW), Suspiria, Alien 1 and 2, The Shining, and I'm going to stop before I list them all lol. I used the (CW) to indicate a content warning as I would hate for anyone to watch something that makes them uncomfortable or that can be triggering. Once again thank you for another great reaction, I love your analysis and how you appreciate the films you watch as a whole to include the cinematography, sound design, use of lighting etc. Im excited to see what's next! :)

I think the next film that would be great to see is As Above So Below

Sorry for your recent loss, I hope you and your family are healing well Definitely appreciated the honesty with this one, looking through modern eyes it's definitely a product of it's time however as you said it yourself if you put yourself in the era it was made, it's a lot more effective. It isn't one of my personal favourites but I completely respect this one. Although it wasn't THE first Slasher movie, it was one of the ones that kicked off the boom from the late seventies/early eighties and helped to inspire the creation of one of my favourite subgenres of Horror. With that said I'm happy that you are opening yourself up to the "classics" and it's a little bit different from the more modern paranormal based movies you've watched recently (although I'm looking forward to your Sinister 2 reaction whenever that will be) Now with Halloween there's a few different ways you can go without spoling too many surprises. You can stick with it chronologically (2-8), you can go to the 2007's remake and it's sequel by director Rob Zombie (if you decide to watch these huge content warning ahead, it may not be something you wish to put on the channel) or go straight to the more recent rebooted timeline starting from 2018's direct sequel to this one Halloween. The choice is yours, although if you go chronological prepare yourself for Halloween 3. It might not be what you expect Just curious to know, would you consider making a Letterboxd account so we know what films you've seen so we don't recommend the same things constantly for She's Scared?

Robbie Corrie

Loved watching this reaction. If you want to check out the more modern takes on these movies, I would recommend maybe doing the three movies that have come out since 2018 so Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, which is supposed to be the last in the franchise. I definitely think those are a little more modernized and have a bit more action. If you wanted to check out some other classics, I think you might like the Scream movies and Fear Street movies if you haven’t already done those. Love your reactions!

Victoria Drush

I highly recommend [Alien] and [Aliens-Special Edition] movies. They go together very well, hold up well, and are classics.

Alex Bores

I love this movie, but it’s definitely outdated lol. It had such a low budget that they didn’t have money or time to reshoot some of the scenes with poor acting. There’s even a scene where Bob disturbingly says “And then we’ll tear off Lindsay’s clothes.” He actually meant to say Annie. Also, since they were filming in California they had to paint leaves orange lol

omg i missed your spooky reactions! cant wait to watch this with u 💗
