2021-10-11 01:23:55 +0000 UTCI'm clearly not very far into the video, but to me, No Shame is VERY much about vanity/fame/attention, based on visuals alone, but especially the "I love the way you're screaming my name" line. It's all about the things people do for attention (video-wise, anyway: Mikey's portion is clearly about people doing risky shit for attention, Luke's fake funeral so he can see what everyone thinks about him, Calum's is all about the idealistic family/giving his "wife" the car, picture perfect kids, etc., and Ashton's is obviously about people doing work to their bodies (which again, vanity, but you do you boo))

2021-10-09 17:10:25 +0000 UTCi’m still watching but in regards to the guy on fire that michael looks at. that’s a reference to when michael actually got hit with one of those on stage flamethrowers in the middle of a concert. i remember when that happened because everyone was so worried for michael at the time, but he was okay in the end. i believe calum (??) also got caught in the arm at the same show as well but i’m not entirely sure

Would love to see you react to some of their live stuff -- I think the changed arrangements and 5sos's joy in performance might be good resets on some of the painful songs ... Sounds Good, Feels Good tour (Sounds Live, Feels Live) made a lot of those songs COMFORT vs pain. Old Me -- that last shot of them going on stage? If you watch the 5sos set at Fire Fight Australia from Feb 2020, it STARTS with the same shots from the front: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CfoTysD110 and you see Ashton ripped off the sweater and them running out to the MOST giant stadium with the crowd going off - especially w/ Youngblood in the set. "Better Man" - if you go back to this one and listen to the harmonies on the chorus, Michael's different tone is foregrounded and sounds amazing. Just keeps making that song feel MORE. In addition to the Vault lives of Teeth and Easier (because omg they hit HARD), I'd love to see your reaction to a few covers in the Live Lounge ("No Roots", "Drown"), "American Idiot" (tour or Howard Stern), "The Middle"; and maybe their EP pre-Self-Titled. "Beside You", "Gotta Get Out," really good songs! (And English Love Affair from SGFG). Thank you for sharing your reactions with us, you always hear something new and SO SO grateful to see someone care (and show) how much they feel about music. [Fwiw, All Time Low's "Weightless" has been my song for my weird mental spot -- "Manage me, I'm a mess / Turn a page, I'm a book half unread / I wanna be laughed at, laughed with, just because / I wanna feel weightless and that should be enough/ .... Maybe it's not my weekend but it's gonna be my year ... " Given how much 5sos (and especially Michael love(d) ATL,I checked them out, and this song hit hard, It's a super hopeful song. 2021-10-09 13:32:49 +0000 UTCcalm is definitely my favourite 5sos album. the lyrics hurt for most of the time but i’m always having so much fun when i’m listening to it. this is literally their most mature album and i think that it will always be, depends on which side of music they want to go next. i’m so glad that you loved it caitlin!! my favourite song is definitely lonely heart. it’s just perfect and the lyrics >>>>
