This time I would like to explain how to draw [rock block], one of the four blocks mentioned in the painting course!

Prepare a regular box as you did with the wood. From here, we'll start shaving it down to make it look more like a rock!

I shaved and added outlines. At this time, I also drew in a little bit of the shadow position and where the light hits it as a landmark.

Next, we draw the shadows and light by relying on the landmarks. At this point, I feel that if I pay attention to the curves and zigzags, it will look more like a rock!

We will also draw the shadow of the depression on the shadow surface and the top surface. I made the depressions on the shadow surface a little greenish.

Now comes the detailing. We darken the shadows of the depressions in stages and lighten the edges. I added a little reflected light on the underside of the shadow surface.

Next, cracks and rugged rock-like areas are painted in. In this case, I kept them low key.

I brightened the top surface a little with an add layer, added highlights with a normal layer, and... voila!
It's a pretty analog way of drawing, so even if you don't have paint software, just try to imitate me with your paints!
Please look forward to the next Making of~!
