Planning to complete Perilous Penny soon! Here's a quick tease of this sexy woman. π€€
I've been learning to improve my workflow. Learned to set up my scene hierarchy better that makes sense to me. It's awesome to have something work good and produce consistent results. As I go back and work on these older scenes, I'm seeing ways I would change how to set up a scene. There's so much I've been learning and these are somethings I wanted to share with you.
One thing for sure that's been a big help is using the A.I. denoiser. Previously I didn't like how noisy the images were, so I would let it render on and on in order to eliminate most of the noise. This, however, costed me time waiting for the render to converge. Up to a point there are diminishing returns where the time invested in a render takes up too much time.
Having a better understanding how to set up the scene with more light made the renders acceptable with the A.I. denoiser. Also avoid things that can slow down renders, such as reflective and transparent stuff.
While I don't have much sample data recorded to estimate how good it is, I can see it allowing me to create more consistently with good results over these pass few days.. There's definitely more things to keep in mind what can slow down a render which is why I took some time to learn ways to optimize the work flow.
In the case of Sinister Sister, rendering the scene in Sister Angelica's mind with her and Possessed Beatrice was fast because there weren't a lot in the scene besides those two figures. However, in Proxy Grounds, that comic was a pain in the butt to render. For some reason, all the scene environments was taking long. But the environment that took the longest was the fight scene. I love that environment, but I was trying a different work method and it was taking longer than I thought. It was essentially rendering a pass with the full background with depth of field in low iterations around 100-200. Once I have a background rendered quickly, I would hide everything and render the character since it was in focus. This would render the character in higher quality with more iterations. But this process took longer when I look back at it.
Either way, optimizing the scene first to render it within an acceptable time.
I'm learning how to poser faster and more naturally. I cannot tell you how hard and annoying it was at the beginning when I was starting to pose. But overtime, I learned new ways to pose the figure more effectively and faster. Really interesting how there are many ways to do one thing. I'm experimenting with more sexy poses :D
Having lots of posing presets are amazing too. I'm starting use more presets as a starting point to how I would like to render a pose and manually adjust the figure's pose to the scene.
Adding post work special effects is actually quite fun too. I can see how it enhances the render. I'm surprised that I can fix the lighting if a scene rendered out darker than I desired.
I want to keep investing back into this because I enjoy making this type of content. There's so much possibilities. I've been wanting to get so many things, but it'll take time to save up. I'm saving up for new hardware in order to render quicker. I want to get a motorized standing desk because throughout the day my back kills me to sit all day at my computer. Along with a desk, I've been looking at a chair I really want to get called, Capisco Chair by HΓ G. It's fudging expensive as heck, but I guess its actually something good to invest in if I'm planning to use it for the long run. It also has a lot of good recommendations.
But I think for the moment, I want to invest in hardware upgrades as priority since that'll be what helps with render speed ultimately.
I also want to invest time into learning Blender since it'll help in with 3D creation stuff. Cinema 4D is looking really nice too, but I would have to save up for that software, also taking time to learn it. But that's for later down the road.
I'm starting to learn more about 3D concepts, but the road ahead is still a long one. Thanks for tagging along with me and supporting me in this these creations. While things are slow, I've been working on having a better work environment. Using big whiteboards to keep track of my thoughts and what I do in a day helps immensely. Having a calendar next to me helps me see more clearly on what I need to do. It helps a lot to see things visually and also be able to jolt ideas down so I don't forget about important things.
I'm working towards setting up a schedule so you guys can know when to expect when a comic would drop. At the moment I'm not able to do this because I'm really behind on content. I'm taking things one step at a time learning to do things right. Thanks for your patience and support.
It's important to understand the use of each tool and the further I jump into learning more about 3D, I realize that I'm barely scratching the surface. Opening one door of knowledge leads to more doors I didn't even know about. Eventually, I want to get good enough where I can create my own 3D content instead of having to rely mainly on what's available in the Daz store.
Phew, its been awhile since I shared my thoughts and process. Have a good morning, good afternoon, or good night where ever you are. π
