And we're into April...

Firstly, due to all this Coronavirus unpleasantness, I have been working from home for the past week or so, and will be for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, this means that I need a fully functioning PC during working hours, which means that I can't simply leave it rendering a queue of images all day as I used to. The rendering slows it down too much. So, I haven't got as many images done yet as I'd like. That said, I have got a lot of them done, and I'm confident I can have the next demo ready towards the end of this month.  

So, what have I got done, and what's in the pipeline...?  

Firstly, the office scene - rather ironically since most offices are closed at the moment - has been expanded. Will hopefully make the chore of working a bit more interesting. 

Another completely new repeatable scene. I may or may not post a sneak peek of this soon.  I've now added (although they may be expanded) all the planned repeatable scenes to the game. But that's not to say I won't add more if they occur to me! Or if anyone suggests something :) 

 I've also done a fair bit of work on the next part of the story with Alice. Don't want to say too much as a lot of people reading this won't have played 0.2 yet, but this version finished on a bit of a cliffhanger. And to be honest, concluding this has been trickier than I expected. I had the story roughed out a while ago, but once I started writing, it didn't really feel right at all. I tried to rewrite it, but the more I tried, the worse it was. In fact, it got to the stage where I was sorely tempted to have the last sequence of 0.2 be a dream, you wake up the next morning and carry on as normal! But that would be a cop out! So I binned it completely, and started writing it again from scratch. Still needs a lot of work, but I think it's coming together now. 

 I'm also hoping to add to the shopping scene, but depending on how time-consuming the Alice storyline is, this may have to wait until the next version. 

We haven't seen the last of Hannah! A few people have asked what's happened to her, but she'll be back, don't worry. Hoping to reintroduce her in the next demo, but again, this'll depend on time.  Oh, and Janet will be back too!

And, of course, there'll be the usual new size images, tweaks etc. And as much of the story as I have time for!  

As always, huge thanks to everyone supporting the game, whether financially, by making suggestions (I'm always ready to listen to ideas, whether you think they're workable or not!), or simply commenting/messaging to say how much you've enjoyed what there is so far.

Haha, the PC is already rendering overnight five or six nights a week... I could produce some lower detail renders, but don't want to go down that route as I'd be constantly lagging behind the game content. I also have a very annoying habit of forgetting to save scenes (am desperately trying to wean myself off this!) and/or overwriting existing ones by mistake, so I'd end up having to set up half the scenes again for the full size renders :p

The renders aren't much better than top tier in-game stuff, can't you just get the scenes right, then use some quick & dirty lower detail rendering while this is going on? Or, leave the pc running at night rendering while you sleep ?

I've seen her... and in my opinion, she looks better than ever :)

Looking forward to seeing the next part of Alice, especially with the way she was heading near the end of 0.2.
