It's Hermione...and even if she's consciously the villain of the story (versus her suffering from DID or being controlled a la Ginny & Voldemort's diary in Chamber of Secrets), it only makes it more fun to bamboozle her by showing off that he's far harder to kill than even Dumbledore or Voldemort were. Which will push her to try various cockamamie schemes to bump Harry off...which will fail.
