Two questions: How much does he even know about the Pheonix Force? And did he even recognize it for what it was instead of just "a threat"?

Even with a very basic level of understanding about the Phoenix force, he literally should never have tried to "force" It out of Emma. He should have tried to calm her down, and do basically everything but use force against it. Sure she is panicking, but unless he thinks it's either A: going to consume her mind or B: do immediate harm to her, trying to attack/force the Phoenix force out, just seems so incredibly stupid by Chad as to be entirely out of character. TLDR. To me Chad acted out of character in order for a cheap death to maybe progress the plot in a certain direction. Unless I am misunderstanding and he was in her mind to try and calm her down not push out the PF.

2025-11-24 13:05:44 +0000 UTCI voted for Option #1, but I recognize that it can't be a long-term thing unless both Emma and The Phoenix Force do some growing (the latter more than the former). The only upside to this choice is that Phoenix WANTS TO learn about love and already has been taught a significant lesson (or re-taught, for all we know) about it via accidentally smiting Thad.
