It might be sad to consider it, but...the reason why Mira & Zoey accepted Rumi's patterns and half-demon status and Jia didnt? Jia has a happy childhood. Think about it....her parents (presumably) loved her and treated her right...she was a successful K-Pop artist in a successful girl band with her BFFs...and she got to help save the world from demons with said friends because they were chosen to be heroes by a supernatural force. Things were GREAT till Rumi's dad came along and upset the apple cart by isolating Mi-yeong (intentionally or not) from Jia & Celine via his relationship with Mi-yeong, especially if Mi-yeong knew he was a demon before Rumi was conceived and kept seeing him, and if Hunters have soulmate-like connections to one another? I bet Jia struggled hard to accept things like realizing she liked Mi-yeong THAT WAY due to being jealous of Rumi's dad...the revelation that he was a demon and impregnated Mi-yeong probably became the world's most twisted lifeline to explain her feelings and to justify removing all traces of Mi-yeong's actions against Jia & Celine. In comparison, Mira & Zoey both had it rough growing up, as they pointed out to Celine in this chapter, and better understood what it was like to be considered something shameful or less than by one's parents or society. They didn't fall back on Hunter training dogma because they already intrinsically comprehended the ideas of people being complicated or not fitting in to the norms BUT STILL BEING WORTHY of respect and love till they prove themselves unworthy.
