A/N: I hope people like this chapter. It DOES move the plot forward, but maybe not as fast as some might want. On the other hand, I had way too much fun writing it lmao.

Damn, I am incredibly late to the party, but I see others came to the same conclusion I did. There’s definitely “good”, or at least “not evil”, demons, and one of them fell in love with Rumi’s mom. Unfortunately, Celine was also in love with Rumi’s mom, but too bad that she’s a straight woman who loved the “not evil” Demon working a regular job. So Celine, like all cucks, grew to hate all demons even more fervently.

Like Gwi-wa said, Rumi is mot under her control, It always bothered me why hed mention that, and thought since she's only half that she can choose mot to hear his voice or ignore it completely. Would be a funny and ironic story if they did find that out.

Like there are nice demons...Rumi's dad was one...Celine actually was interested in Mi-yeong...and that Celine dealt with Rumi's dad, but learned too late that Mi-yeong was bonded to him and that his death or banishment led to Mi-yeong dying in childbirth. Far easier to sell yourself on the idea that you didn't kill your best friend/secret crush by blaming the demon said bestie was shacking up with than to acknowledge said demon wasn't threat his brethren are...and that killing or banishing him led to your best friend dying due to a soul bond they willingly initiated or the conception of Rumi created.

2025-09-13 06:32:39 +0000 UTCMeh I'm for the four to get together (after all no Abby, baby, mystery or romance for the other 2 and they deserve some happiness as well, even if you use others or just Jinu 😅) The betrayal part is interesting because it can be read as number of ways. First, Rumi's father betrayed her mother (most boring option). Second, events play out similarly to how they did during Rumi and Jinu's first time but the other sunlight sisters found out and viewed it as a betrayal by Rumi's mom. This could then involve things like believing she was manipulated when she wasn't, mind control etc. Ending here would be Rumi's mom either being taken out in the crossfire when her teammates attack her lover or her teammates straight up killing both ( both dark but one is darker than the other). Guilt on their part would spare Rumi but the scenario would explain why she was raised to hate herself. The 'catch him' development is probably the best thing for both parties. I don't think the hunters will be able to catch him unless he let's them ( what are they going to do ? Put him in cuffs? Lock him in a room? He'd break the cuffs and derpy can get him out of anything). They have never had to catch a demon before ergo they don't know how to do so, and they don't have the means to keep him contained. Great opportunity for some development. Zoey and Mira might actually be Jinu's way in right now. Celine is not going to be, and Rumi's back is against a wall and she is looking for anyway to deflect and hide what she did. Great way for him to actually build a rapport, a friendship or something more with both Zoey and Mira. I can see it now Rumi: you're coming with us demon boy! Jinu: okay sure! Let me just pack my stuff. Zoey" don't make this dif- wait what? Jinu: cool, got my lute. Let's go! Mira: is it supposed to be this easy? Rumi: don't get distracted! It's a trick! It has to be Mira and zoey: it sure doesn't look like it

Since you have to introduce Celine, who doesn't get much detail in the movie, and establish the beginning of Celine's character arc, in addition to the regular character work this chapter feels full. Excellent work capturing Zoey's and Mira's voices. All 3 of the girls are defined by the alienation of their childhoods and how the coping attitudes they developed being enthusiastically loved by each other. Zoey is a chatty genki girl to make people like her. Mira acts too cool for school so people think she's above all the loneliness her family life caused her. The movie works so well because those two have processed and, through their love for each other, accepted their pasts. Except for Rumi who is lying. That is why my one criticism is in Rumi's voice. I understand that she is going through it and is depressed, the way she deals with those things in the movie is by trying to as fast as possibly shoving the problems down and putting an enthusiastic face on. I'd like to see a scene or two where her internal monologue is like what it is here but outward she is just a serious but happy workaholic. Also it would be so funny if Jinu is scouted by Bobby.
