If you want to compete against each other why not both have two cards each... one with 'True' written on it the other with 'Lie' written on it. Just before they reveal whether they're lying or not both of you raise the card you think it is at the same time (so you don't know what the other is going to go for). Love this show, It's just easy watching and can watch the same episode over and over again :)

You need a better way to score things. I think you should take turns picking a team in each epsiode then the other person gets the other team. For each point that team gets you also get a point (other than the rounds where only 1 team do it) and then you also get a point if you guess correctly. Then for the rounds such as this is my, you simply get a point if you guess correctly.

In the 90's in the UK you could more or less expect a response to a job application, one way or the other. Sort of went out of fashion early 2000's and now you barely get an automated email confirming your application 😆

Coincidentally Rob did a comedy about the making of a panel show called Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive - 2-3 years before this. It’s pretty good and might be worth checking out down the line

Peep show came out in 2003 and Wilty came out in 2007. Not sure if David was there in 2007 or came along in 2009. I believe he’s always been a team captain. I just remember Angus Dayton was the host before rob. Rob is much better imo

Fyi, the score at the end may sound off at times as most episodes have a round or 2 cut out for time restraints. these cut out rounds eventually make it into the deleted scenes episodes at the end of the series. Though I can't recall if every series got the compilation, the latter ones do for sure

For this particular show, if you are planning on putting it on YouTube, I think you are best just clipping out the rounds/lies you like individually. compilations and long videos are difficult on YouTube ever since they opened an official WILTY YouTube page a few years ago. clips are usually ok for reacting

It was definitely more loose with kids in the 1960s. I can remember me and my brother would let ourselves into our home in London while in the later stages of primary school and have to occupy ourselves until my mum got home from work at around 5.30pm. She would sometimes leave a note with chores like going to the corner shop for something or switching on the oven. We often screwed up, even with basic tasks, and got into trouble.

For sure with some higher up positions I would expect a callback and have gotten one even when not getting the position. Not with a fast food restaurant or any other low skill job. I've never gotten a call back from any of them

It's worth mentioning that, although they keep track of the points, the real goal of the guests is to tell the best lies, stories, jokes, etc. The competition aspect of it is really just background.

Twenty years ago, I would have got a call back if my application was unsuccessful, or a letter etc. These days, at least my area, professional courtesy has gone out the window. If I call a joiner to fix a door or a roofer to fix the roof, or something. as a customer who's happy to pay for the work, they'll tell you they'll come on a specific date, then, not only don't they come, they don't even bother letting you know they can't be arsed coming. Same with BT engineers or electricians. It's like professionalism has fallen out of fashion. And they can get away with it.

I'm not sure you quite get it. The cards only tell the initial sentence or two. The rest is up to the panel members to elaborate on. The full stories are not written down on the cards.

I thought Angus Deayton was excellent, but I agree that the chemistry between Rob, David and Lee puts it on another level. I don't think Deayton has ever been bettered as the host of Have I Got News For You though.

IMO, Rob Brydon was a much better host than the original one in the 1st 2 series 2007 and 2008, Angus Deayton, so you're not missing out too much. The banter went up a gear from this point on.

This was 2009, 6 years after Peep Show started. Rob Brydon and Larry Lamb were working together on Gavin and Stacey, which we may see in the future. That started in 2007.

I'm a 60's child and I used to look after my younger siblings a lot. I also used to walk to school on my own when I was 5/6. I would never let my daughters walk to school on their own - different times back then.
