The best part for me was the wine drinking with those posh people. I recently watched a video with SBC talking about recording these scenes and he said he was completely smashed throughout 😆 Borat is a comical genius!

Wow this is a time capsule. I looked up the episodes to remind myself what’s coming up and omg it’s all coming flooding back. The Ali G movie is after S1. Then S2 and S3 are filmed in the USA, that’s where some of the best clips are. You should definitely do the Borat movies afterwards too (there are 2).

I think the first sketches he did on the 11 O’clock show were funnier, as they were more raw as nobody knew who he was then. It would be worth checking out the 11 O’clock show just to see a young Ricky Gervais!

I was born in 1957 and Ali G was right up my street from the get-go. I still find him hilarious. But then again, Brits grew up on this irreverent humour, starting with John Cleese’s Monty Python and Peter Cook and Dudley Moore in the late 60s. My parents let me watch that when I was still at primary school. Mike and Jess, you are in for a hell of a ride with the full Sacha Baron Cohen catalogue. This was tame by comparison with some of the stuff he gets up to. Genius.

I used to love Ali G so I’m looking forward to starting this. When you run out of Ali G and Cunk, it might be a good idea to keep the Mondays for prank / sketch shows. We have soooo many, most are hilarious and and they’ll keep you busy for ages. Some suggestions are Fonejacker and Trigger Happy (both prank type shows and really funny) and we also have loads of sketch shows like The Catherine Tate Show, Fast Show, Harry Enfield & Chums, and Little Britain.
