2025-08-28 23:31:33 +0000 UTCI'm so confused at what spurred this comment. Can you please timestamp. We've watched a ton of videos in our educational slot that have gone over this topic long before we watched this. I don't think it's even possible for me to fall into that train of thought with what I know now after the videos we've reacted to. I'm always open to learning and I try to never speak about things I don't know. I'm sure this is just a misinterpretion of something I said.

2025-08-26 21:21:39 +0000 UTCMike - You seemed to be veering into the common misconception that World War II was essentially "won" by America (a myth held by most Americans). Whereas, defeating Germany was absolutely a joint effort and no single nation can claim to have won the war for the rest of the world's sake. It's especially worth noting that Britain was pretty much single-handedly fighting back the Germans for the first two years of the war, before America even so much as lifted a finger to help (and they only did so when the war came to them). Furthermore, The British had a far greater impact against Japan than most Americans are willing to believe. Australia, Britain and New Zealand all had an equal contribution to the War (when factoring in their relative populations). It's also worth noting that out of all the allies, it was arguably the USSR that made the greatest contribution in terms of raw statistics. Anyway; long story short... America did not "win" the war. The Second World War came to an end due to the collaborative efforts of many nations across the globe, including America (not because of them). Whilst I'm on the subject, because I know that a lot of Americans like to say it; no, us Brits would not be speaking German had America not played their part in the war (in actuality, Americans wouldn't be speaking English in the first place, were it not for... well, the English). Okay. Rant over.

2025-08-25 10:25:33 +0000 UTCIt depends where you are in the country, though. Where I live we have a rag n bone man around quite a bit. And, if you phone/book with the local council, every Tuesday week they'll collect larger goods like sofas and some furniture if you label it and leave it on the roadside.

2025-08-24 08:35:29 +0000 UTCTbh tho, we had the British longbow, The English longbow provided a significantly faster rate of fire and was highly effective for massed volleys on the battlefield, with majority of British major battle at the time was always in open fields and open battlegrounds, which favoured the longbow over the crossbow, which was heavier and less mobile, not to mention, we mastered the Longbow, so it made no sense to adopt the Crossbow, we did however use them in France for sieges, which crossbows were way more superior

2025-08-24 02:44:20 +0000 UTCMike, the fact you can differentiate England from Britain in terms of culture puts yourself & The Jess ahead of most…

2025-08-23 19:45:50 +0000 UTCWhen I got my dog as a puppy, I got a frisbee for him and fell in love with it. We both mastered the frisbee. He would catch it from any height looking like a parkour pro. Other people in the park would just stand there and watch him catch my back handed side spinner'roonies. Now he's 5 and his legs cant take it anymore. im losing my special skill. I need a frisbee friend Mike or maybe try a boomerang? 😆 Friend!..... frisbee friend

2025-08-23 16:58:11 +0000 UTCI've been going to sleep most nights for several years listening to the XFM shows too. It's a slightly odd phenomenon, but there are a lot of us who do it.

2025-08-23 16:05:05 +0000 UTCIt's funny because I'm part of a 'cult' of people that are obsessed with these shows. If you search on youtube XFM there are thousands of videos of like 11 hour long versions of the show. Most nights I go to sleep listening to Ricky, Karl and Steve. And it's like 20+ years old and I've heard it all before. Almost like a comfort thing.

2025-08-23 14:45:53 +0000 UTCThere used to be 'Rag 'n' Bone' men on horse and carts/vans calling out (or with a megaphone/tannoy) going around neighbourhoods collecting anything and everything. Had one the other day in a flat-bed truck come round. Leaving stuff out in the UK climate is not a good idea and would look a mess in urban areas and block pavements.

2025-08-23 13:17:39 +0000 UTCKarl gives the impression of living in his own bubble and dismisses things he doesn't immediately understand instead of finding out more about it hilariously at times e.g. he doesn't know not all blind people have guide dogs? That the St. George dragon wasn't real and was worried about an imaginary creature being scarce? The reason footballs were present in the battlefield areas of WW1 on the British side was because they played football in their time-off from the front and owner of said ball took it them to the trenches to stop it being nicked.

2025-08-23 12:56:03 +0000 UTCThe English have been silenced and told we are bad over the last 20 years.. Our children in school's are told lies about our history, It's sad and been happening for a long time. What we are seeing now in England is a political revolution not seen in over a century. Change is coming, for the better.. I just pray it's a peaceful process 🙏 Long live England 🙏

2025-08-23 11:26:12 +0000 UTCNow theres sites for giving stuff away. We've give away old fridges or tables on Facebook marketplace. But I still see people now leaving old microwaves and cookers infront of the house and gypsies who are always riding round come for em to scrap em for cash

2025-08-23 11:14:34 +0000 UTCThe Catholic Church banned crossbows in about 1060-1100 somewhere round then . They was seen as un-Christian , think it might have been the armour piercing ability seen as "ungodly". English Longbowman were arguably considered the best archers in the world It's been said the 🖕 middle finger gesture stems from that, as the French soldiers would cut off the English longbowmans middle finger if they were captured to hinder their ability. So the middle finger gesture was done by the English to the French to show we still had them

2025-08-23 11:03:10 +0000 UTChe has a point about being judged for sitting outside coffee shops etc. in the UK. Covid really changed peoples outlooks and made people realise that as a people we worked too much we didn't have a good work life balance. and now that covid is done we wont go back to that way off thinking. ( a 9-5 was the starting point for most But a lot of people did OT working 50 - 80 hour week )

2025-08-23 08:46:17 +0000 UTCIt must be quite the culture shock for those who think of the English as reserved and polite tea drinkers with impeccable manners to suddenly encounter Jay Cartwright from The Inbetweeners.

2025-08-23 07:33:13 +0000 UTCAlso in the pasta thing, Karl needs to go to Celinos an Italian deli and restaurant in Glasgow, I went the other night got pasta Arrizabalaga and they never offered Parmesan or pepper then when I tasted it I thought it dosent need it, it was so fresh and the tomato sauce was so fresh I gobbled it up. Oh it was lovely and it’s hard to find a place that sells good tomato sauce, but if your ever in Fiji, Mammas pizza run by all older women oh my god it’s to die for, their tomato sauce is just heavenly. That’s my tomato sauce rant over
