Yes you definitely missed some funny lines but you got most of them.👍🏻

2025-08-15 01:03:16 +0000 UTCI knew all the jokes, but I grew up here. It's excellent that you are interested in the first place! ''Maybe looking some things up'' puts you way ahead of the American Education System, especially as you are homeschooling.

2025-08-13 18:42:40 +0000 UTCthey ,missed a good joke in the show their was George 1, George 2, George 4, George 3. but no one is sure if George 4man was related.

2025-08-13 13:19:45 +0000 UTCDon't need to be into history to understand this show, just need to have finished school in the uk. Although pretty sure most of this I remember from primary school.

2025-08-12 21:11:57 +0000 UTCHmm. Surely you must have heard of the British Empire?

2025-08-12 15:02:26 +0000 UTCI get through long shifts at work by binge-watching these two. I don't think they quite realise what a difference they make to some of our daily lives just by being themselves.

2025-08-12 10:03:50 +0000 UTCI think that if she was ever going to say it, it would have been whenever she saw Carli in The Inbetweeners.

2025-08-12 09:57:46 +0000 UTCMr Tickle didn't write Mr Tickle. It was not an autobiography. This programme discussed the contributors favourite (or favorite as an American world say) Mr Men character, NOT their favourite (or favorite as an American world say) "author of the past".

2025-08-12 06:14:02 +0000 UTCWhy would you turn a pig into a cow -"just to see what it is like": These are so short and hilarious liners that just make you take a step back - Yeah, let's try that. A childs mind always come up with this, maybe there is somethihng profound to find =D
Christopher Bergren
2025-08-12 04:54:55 +0000 UTCBut isn't that part of what makes her character so funny - you are just predicting the next stupid reflection emanating from her mouth =D Part of what makes her even funnier to me is that I knew a girl that actually was that daft and I spent so much time trying to educate her. So I was sort of one of the "victims" in this series, but taking it effing seriously. Because true stupidness is always curable - if you have the energy to do it . So love this
Christopher Bergren
2025-08-12 04:41:37 +0000 UTCAhh yes. My favoroute author of the past... Mr Tickle.
Neil
2025-08-12 00:27:06 +0000 UTCI think this show is funnier if you actually know the history, luckily we are actually taught pretty much all of this at school (atleast I was 15 years ago)
Brad Johnson
2025-08-11 22:19:20 +0000 UTCShe talked about the "Mistermen" books, which are a series of cartoon books for young children.

2025-08-11 19:52:05 +0000 UTCI know Howard (went to school with him, worked in an office with his mother and his Dad was my Headmaster for a long time) and he was 100% not aware of the stitch up.

2025-08-11 19:45:34 +0000 UTCDiane Morgan's "Who do you think you are?" is worth a watch. Frankly, it's not a lot different to this!

2025-08-11 19:43:47 +0000 UTCMarion and Geoff is very underrated. Excellent show.

2025-08-11 18:35:36 +0000 UTCJess, 2 British crime shows you'd like "Britain's Darkest Taboos" and "Crimes that shook Britian"

2025-08-11 18:24:18 +0000 UTCHoward Goodall!! One of my favourite ever people. He's the one with the keyboard on his lap playing the old music hall song. Responsible for composing some of the best TV theme tunes ever created, such as: Blackadder, Mr. Bean, The Vicar of Dibley (Psalm 23 The Lord is my Shepherd), Not the Nine O'clock News, and of course.....the GREATEST OF ALL.... Red Dwarf ❤️ https://youtu.be/yLxdb3ov-zE?si=U-6l0BJ-IUMxYlr9 Here is the best version of The Lord is my Shepherd. I listened to it non-stop the week my mum passed away last year 😢 Happy to share it here 😊

2025-08-11 18:22:22 +0000 UTCI enjoy Philomena Cunk but to be honest I think it can get a tad predictable, I think you both might find that, maybe not
Louise Miller
2025-08-11 18:18:26 +0000 UTCI'd like to imagine that at some point in the far distant future, aliens land on Earth and, in their excavations to find what happened to the planet's dominant species, all they find are the collected video essays of Philomena Cunk
Andy Oliver
2025-08-11 18:12:26 +0000 UTCApart from the historical facts you're missing there are a lot of very funny British cultural references that are going over your heads. They are also too complex to explain. It's still great that you are finding a lot to laugh at. Btw Oscar Wilde was Irish not British.
Matt King
2025-08-11 18:05:06 +0000 UTC🎵 His mother, the dirty bugger, chopped it off when he was booooorn 🎵 🤣

2025-08-11 17:43:43 +0000 UTC‘Fun’ fact!
Dave Henshall
2025-08-11 17:15:00 +0000 UTCRandom fact of the day, if every bank company on earth decided to give between 1-5% of it's wealth to solve modern life problems with a 0% corruption rate, you would fix all hunger problems on earth, fix Low economic developing countries, fix homelessness and many others, with even enough to eventually find a cure to cancers.
Dan Anderson
2025-08-11 16:05:30 +0000 UTCI mean the Evil Empire did have all British accents from what I remember... But heavily influenced by the Third Reich too!
Alec Vine
2025-08-11 15:47:42 +0000 UTCJust fantastic
Daz Parker
2025-08-11 15:36:06 +0000 UTCThe pig/cow man is Chris Packham. He's a nature photographer, naturalist, and vegan... so, no bacon for him. Even though he's presented many children's TV shows over here in the UK, I've never seen him laugh or joke about anything - he's always very serious. I think I've read that he has Asperger's.
Karina Bailey
2025-08-11 15:29:50 +0000 UTCIf you actually know the historical facts then it is even funnier as historians on YouTube have attested with their reactions, and they explain the exact events after each of Cunk's proclamations. Fun way to learn.

2025-08-11 15:01:57 +0000 UTCYou can't beat the classics!
Simon Cross
2025-08-11 15:00:39 +0000 UTCYes they are cartoon character children's books. Each one is called Mr. /Mrs/Miss *something* e.g. Mr Tickle, Mr Happy, Mr Tidy, etc. As far away from a romantic novel as you can get.

2025-08-11 14:51:41 +0000 UTCMike, I can concur. If you're into history, this is painful! Laughing through the pain here 😂

2025-08-11 14:48:49 +0000 UTCMike reminds me of Karl Pilkington when he goes on his little rants watching cunk lmao

2025-08-11 14:32:29 +0000 UTCEmily Davison who was hit by the horse is buried in my town. She went out to put a banner on to a horse owned by the king and was struck down and died by it.

2025-08-11 14:30:46 +0000 UTCShould react to her Sitcom Mandy from the BBC

2025-08-11 14:27:50 +0000 UTCMost “family photos” from 19th century will include dead members of the family. When they’re dead, that’s when they could stay still long enough for a photograph. That’s just the honest reality. You two at some point should have a go at the original seasons of Horrible Histories and/or Ghosts
Sam Dilks
2025-08-11 14:06:13 +0000 UTCFun Fact: The Empire in Star Wars was actually the US. George Lucas created Star Wars as a commentary on the US during the Vietnam war.

2025-08-11 14:05:29 +0000 UTCThe talk of the Romantic poets made me think of The Trip, with Steve Coogan (most famous for Alan Partridge) and Rob Brydon (who presents WILTY), its a great series where they play fictional versions of themselves - I think you’d enjoy that one. The first two series ties in visiting locations associated with the poets which is what made me think of it. There were movie edits made for international release but the original series is much better. And speaking of Rob I think you’d get his first series Marion and Geoff.

2025-08-11 13:56:16 +0000 UTCJust do a quick google search on mr men books. very popular in the Uk. Then you'll understand how ridiculous it is that shes bringing it up, lol

2025-08-11 13:52:04 +0000 UTCThere was a young man from Nantucket, Whose d*ck was so long he could suck it, He said with a grin, As he wiped his chin, If my ear was a c*nt I would f*ck it

2025-08-11 13:49:20 +0000 UTCMr Men are a series of 50 children's books all called Mr something eg Mr Tickle, Mr Bump, Mr Strong etc

2025-08-11 13:45:41 +0000 UTCYou'll be glad to know I did my breakfast. Melted cheese on crumpets 👌🏼 PS: I don't believe she threw herself under the horse deliberately, I recall my history teacher mentioning that she was actually trying to pin a sign/slogan onto the side of the horse - but messed up and ended up getting trampled 🙁
