The Office UK | Christmas Special Part 2

Comments

Lovely reaction, really heartfelt and genuine..x Their are a few series to fill the void, not sure as good as the UK Office.. One Foot in the Grave Only Fools (which u have started)

Nicholas

Can you see now why the US turning this into a workplace sitcom seems like such an insult to us? It has real heart, real emotion, real people.

Daryl Layton

The actors are superb aren't they!

Victoria O'Donoghue

This might be the best reaction to a show I’ve ever seen

Tom

Thats jays dad in the inbetweeners that was smoking the cigarette.

james mcloughlin

Because of Jess's obsession with it I've started watching the U.S. version and I have to say, I'm really glad I stuck with it. For series 1&2 it was decidedly average, but Dwight's Mussolini-based speech to a North East Pennsylvania paper conference absolutely swung it. From there on in (I'm now on S4E3) it's as good, and I realise this is potential heresy, as the UK version. For Brits who - like me - looked down their noses; it's definitely worth a go.

Static CentreHalf

The David Brent film isn’t Stephen Merchant’s writing and ruins the endings for me so I wouldn’t watch it personally

Chorlton Outlaw

I have watched The Office probably ten times all the way through since it first aired. I have never failed to cry when Dawn and Tim kiss when Only You is playing in the background. I’m glad you guys cried too 🙏❤️😭

Annabel Andrews

the old guy that stares at the camera is stephen merchantys dad

ashley townsend

When these specials originally aired, Ricky and Steve were back working at Xfm with Karl and they asked him what he thought. He questioned Ricky about the date scene where Brent keeps talking about breasts and goes on to say that men find breasts attractive cos it reminds them of buttocks, which leads to Karl asking "if it's all about arse, why don't gays like a bit of tit?", lol, which is almost up there with "I could eat a knob at night".

Sigma

It was my first time watching The Office and I absolutely loved it even tho it was so uncomfortable and literally painful to watch David at times but i managed to pull through and it all worked out in the end

Rayne

Fuck off to Finch and the secret Santa are two moments of TV history.

Graham Espie

It’s a work of art. The US one is funny consistently but wont make you cry. Go straight to extras don’t bother with the Brent film.

Graham Espie

For me, a good reaction is when you see something which I never saw on first watch. In this case, it's the janitor character who is clearly uncomfortable in front of camera. It's a small touch which exemplifies brilliant writing.

David Barlow

Everything that RG has written (or co written) is top drawer.

Darren W

And we did get everything we need. Also david looking so happy for tim and dawn is yet another example of how well written/acted it is, just how real it all feels

Ally

I don’t know if it has been mentioned before but the actress that played Dawn (Lucy Davis) is the daughter of comedian Jasper Carrott. He had prime time shows in Uk in the 80’s and 90’s. On a sad note, Keith(Ewen Macintosh) pass away last year.

Mark Magill

They were really playing with the audience in this final episode. With Tim saying he might ask Dawn, then not, and then David/Ricky asking at the end if you "got everything you need".

Adam

Totally agree, I love Derek! Maybe you have to have had that lived experience of people with additional support needs to have the empathy and the dark humour required to enjoy it. There’s so many touching moments along with the sick and who wouldn’t find Carl’s look in it hilarious 😄

Andrea Logan

30:59 Will Smith after Chris Rock made the G.I. Jane joke.

David Cole

Great thing about the great Comedies...never go on too long. Saying that....reckon Frasier (probably my fav)...so much longer than most...

Karl Devereux

This is a brilliant office bloopers collection - nicely rounds off the series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpPl89XrEdw

Jimmy Sandwiches

Bit harsh, he's just thick as pudding, and she isn't

Jason

I knew Jess was gonna laugh at Gareth's pathetic attempt at a whistle!

Keith Pratt

That is so sweet. I will never hear that song the same again🥰

Jess

You guys😭 I just had to watch the last 15 minutes all over again! What an amazing roller coaster of emotions! Such an incredible show! 💜💜

Jess

Keith’s eating a scotch egg was thought to be so funny by Gervais that he wrote more lines for the Keith character.

Susan Jack

Brilliant reaction, and perfect ending! shed some tears as well, gutted its over even though av watched series hunners of times😂

Theloyalmuppet

That Star Wars Christmas jumper is amongst my all-time best things I've ever seen.

Ian Warren

Your Shares and Reactions are Much Much more than Entertainment. They Are Companionship and Love for Lonely and Single People xxx

Simon Coward

Agreed. Gervais has said that it was the only line he's ever delivered where he felt genuine adrenaline pumping through him, and you can see it in that secondary glance at Neil.

Cal Evans

Thank god.. The sense of relief was so palpable... Great reaction dudes

na plz

Derek is one of the most underated programs on here.. if you have worked in care you would get it and the laugh out loud moments with karl pilkington along side kev.. i guarantee mike and jess would adore.. a lot more than some of the shows recommended imo and very harsh the negative comments and how deeply people look into it.. its just comedy not some oscar awarding play lol..awaits the gervais haters and oh stephen didnt help write it comments 😂facts are i guarantee mike and jess would laugh hard watching it

Andy Gore

Taylor is like you two but Stephen isn't! He's a Bell end!

Matt Barber

Best ending ever! ❤️

Sandra Hughes

Neil's fine, he's nice enough on the surface but he's not a good bloke. He's nice but not kind.

Ste Rawlings

Absolutely wonderful reaction to a masterful finale of this exemplary show. Definitely Ricky and Steve's masterpiece for my money, but Extras is *almost* as good overall. Just quite different. It really does end perfectly. Just the right balance of resolution and retaining unsteady status quo, nothing over-egged. The scene with Dawn opening her secret santa to find the sketch she drew of Tim and his message "Never Give Up" might be my favourite scene of all. Dawn crying silently. It's just perfectly drawn, no pun intended. David telling Chris to f*** off - so overdue and satisfying. Neil isn't evil or anything, but he's not the nice bloke you think he might be at the start. His face of thunder when David walks in with Carol, an attractive woman, for the party, speaks volumes. He wanted David to fail and be humiliated. Carol is a magician as she was so lovely and laid back with a great sense of humour that David relaxed and stopped trying to impress. He made her laugh without the bulls*** and this was always what he needed to learn. Tim and Dawn though - the beating heart of the show. 💙❤️ I'm glad Tim got his girl in the end and very glad Dawn listened to her heart and realised her worth. I am very much Tim while watching and rewatching this show - Dawn is beautiful and adorable and I also fall in love every time. 🥰 Great idea to leave Life on the Road for another time - it's really not very good in my view, it suffers terribly from not having Stephen Merchant involved, and should be consumed as it's own thing. It's not absolutely diabolical but it's nowhere near on the level of quality you've seen from The Office. There was simply no need for it in my opinion.

Ash Jeffries

So this past weekend I went to the Oasis gig at Wembley. Before hand I was sitting outside a Pub having a few and Ash Atalla (the producer of The Office and The IT Crowd) went past me. I'm so mad at myself for not having the courage to stop him and ask for a photo.

Paul

Agreed. Please wait. And just when you think you can't wait anymore...wait more.

Paulo22

David Brent is obviously a deeply flawed character, but to truly understand him - he is deeply lonely, insecure and therefore always seeking self-validation. Brent comes across as an arrogant ass, but peel away the layers and there is someone wanting to be loved - and no one takes the time to really know him. Such a great character.

Jonah Schooh

Incredible. You guys are so important to my weekly routine, and I'm so happy with how this journey has gone. Beautiful :)

Magnet Hand

My wife and I had "Only You" as our first song at our wedding because of this show ❤️

Nick Ford

As I said when suggesting it. The UK Office is Masterpiece. The US Office is a comedy. Please react to the bloopers as they are just as iconic. Please Michael!! Sending love to you and Jess, LOVE your reactions.

Gerard McCartan

Loved your reactions to this. You should watch life on the road, ignore what everyone else says. It has some very funny moments

Toby

Honestly you are both the best reactors of all time. I laughed, cringed and cried with you and could tell both of your reactions were so genuine. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Leo

Amazing!! Wait till you do 'After life'

Kenny

Because Life on the Road is deemed absolutely dreadful by almost everyone who's seen it whilst the Inbetweeners movies aren't? Pretty simple concept

Johnathon Healey

💯

D Andrew

Disappointed to find out that Mike has let a minority of loud voices convince him to put ''David Brent: Life on the Road (2016)'' on the back-burner for a while. Odd that both The Inbetweeners movies got special treatment and were both watched back to back right after the series finished, yet David Brent: Life on the Road gets booted out of the way for a while.

D Andrew

for me its always the burn victim scene in shallow hal that gets me to tear up

Demceez

Where David tells Finchey to 'Fuck Off' they made a specific point to not have him look at the camera. He's not showing off or playing it up. He's finally being real... It's very subtle character development but perfect for this show.

Simon Charlie

The Office UK bloopers are absolutely brilliant. You could do both seasons in one episode? You would love it... Thanks for another brilliant reaction!

Simon Charlie

This has been great! Extras is super good and no matter what some people say Derek and After Life is also full of funny and hard hitting moments

Anthony Fisher

The best bit when David tells Finchy to "F@ck Off" is when after it he turns to Neil and looks at him for a couple of seconds as if to say "You can f@ck off as well." Poetic justice.

Patrick Nicholls

I caught you Mike when David said '....and three, to make a difference' - you both do and I just needed to say thank you x

MG

Wow. Just full tears. I've seen it through a few times, but seeing other people react to an episode like this reminded how powerful and perfect it was. Ross and Rachel had nothing on that, because it was so genuine, understated, real and just felt so relatable (to us in Britain at least). Thank you guys for the reaction to this - I'm having a hard time right now but sometimes when you're on your own and you're watching something like this with a couple of other people who bring it back to you it makes a World of difference to you.

Patrick Nicholls

I really hope you guys end up watching the outtakes for this! They’re some of the funniest bloopers I’ve ever seen for a TV show 😂

Beth

Agreed. I actually find rewatching the Office a bit too wearing. It's too cringe for me, but with Jess & Mike I could actually see it with a fresh pair of eyes again. Honestly a great reaction.

Alan

Don’t convince yourself it’s everyone giving you shit, Mike! It’s always a small minority bro - their comments just last longer in the memory!! 🍻

Tom

This was so great to watch. To see folks having the same reaction in 2025 to this, that all of us had back in Christmas 2003 was just heart warming tbh and why I love you guys' content. Watching this again it was just such a perfect show - it's no wonder I've never been quite as in love with Gervais's other shows. An absolutely perfect 2 seasons and 2 specials worth of show.

Tim

Don't tell him that!

Alan

Great reactions all the way through. Was a joy to watch with you.

Alan

Two seasons and out. Not nine. Just what's needed.

Alan

If you really love the IT guy you should watch Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place. It’s him, Matthew Holness. Only one season so it’s easy to squeeze in and it’s hilarious! In a very different way but the little things will have you howling. Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry are in it too.

Paul Cole

PS - it’s amazing how many little things in the background go on in this episode you miss the first time so perfect for a rewatch. I swear though that the quick shot of Brent sitting alone slumped in a chair completely isolated in an anonymous and bleak motorway services fast food restaurant was cut from the original episode (not the one of him in the window but the short clip earlier in the episode) - I’d have remembered that shot otherwise and don’t know why they cut that, it killed me emotionally seeing Brent that alone and dejected…maybe they felt it was too much/showed him down and out, miserable and close to giving up a bit too much?

Ash C

For me the all time best show finale and possibly one of the best episodes in TV history generally. I’ve never seen a reaction to this show and especially this episode as invested emotionally and as appreciative as you guys, I felt like I was experiencing every high and low of it all with you! You guys really are awesome, thanks for being legends!

Ash C

I think that's harsh on Derek. Kev is one of my favourite characters in any show and that's without mentioning the egg with sideburns.

Gary

I'm a completionist, but I 100% wish I didn't watch the movie and I'm very confident you would feel the same

Hayden Lee Lyon

Office is a 10/10 Extras is a 9/10 (although I suspect Jess will laugh much more at this show, and rightly so, that's the way it was written) Derek and After Life are about 3/10. Just the lowest common denominator stuff that Ricky used to rally against. He misses Steve so much with these projects. They'll deny that they've fallen out, but they have. If they could get back together for one more new project then I'd die happy.

Paulo22

That was a great reaction Top class . . Ricky and Steve are great writer's.. cart wait for extras and his best work arfter life

Dango247

Still the best TV Christmas Special I've ever seen

GHKY HNeu

Amazing show, amazing writing and an amazing reaction, I think I’ve enjoyed watching it with you guys more than I did the first time i watched it. Thanks for the laughs.

Matty M

I think Mike is wrong about being wrong, just so long as he doesn't think that makes him right.👀

David Broome

When i first watched this i was so hoping for an "American" style ending for once :)

Jamie Derry

The nipple is cus of feeding time...

Scratchproof

Imagine when we watched this in 2003, that 22 years later we'd be watching a couple of yanks so invested in a few characters of a short-lived limey TV show. Kudos to Gervais and Merchant. Great writing.

Si

You just did 🙄

Si

Class reactions

Reece Brown

Gets me everytime I see this. The office and the green mile.. Everytime

Joe Gilbert

(NO SPOILERS!).

AdamMcAdamface

"If it's all about arse, why don't gays like a little bit of tit?" - KP 2004

SomeBSName

You should definitely not watch the movie...... Il just spoil the Brent legacy for you! Just leave it here

CONALL MCLAUGHLIN

Really? Is your monitor/screen dirty? :D

Phil Robinson

It's the breasts we're naturally attracted to, the nipples only became it's own thing because society decided that was the most private part of a tit.

Jamie Derry

I was very confused at first. Definitely not a good replacement, worst song to dance to ever.

Wilss

It's the most perfect tv series I've ever seen.

Peter Collins

The way it gets you in the feels when Dawn opens that gift in the car. Great writing.

Dave Henshall

Agreed. And they would love the Inbetweeners actors going back to the filming locations

Dave Henshall

I didn't dress up in Christmas clothes for this but I do wear full PPE whenever you react to a COVID era WILTY.

Jeffrey44

Mike and Jess I knew you'd lose your s*~t when Dawn re-appeared in the background. Most watchers did the same when it was 1st aired on TV. It stands up to multiple re-watches and you'll catch small things that you missed for laughing so much the 1st time. Don't forget to drop in the out-takes, etc. at a future date.

Fordy7169

I’ve seen this episode so many times but rarely enjoyed it as much as this - so happy to know you both enjoyed the series so much.

Scott Innes

Thanks. I've watched The Office countless times, but this was the first time I watched it with people who really appreciated the show for how beautiful it was.

Suixamoht

Yes! When you rewatch it you both will love it so much more, especially the finale. Brent finally got what he needed and that was someone to listen to him without judging and for the gang to laugh at his jokes. He tried way too hard before. Telling Finch to 'fuck off' is like him saying he no longer needs to fit in with the wrong people. MIKE - Brent is not a dictator. Maybe you're the dick-taker? 😄 Kidding - you've genuinely been a pleasure to listen to, mate, I know you get shit in the comments. 'Ooo, love me - pathetic!'

Liam Parker

Way too much to say about how good the whole show is and how great Rick and Steve worked together as writers. I love the pay off that was set up in the episode where Tim went back on his word of leaving the office and the disappointment on Dawn's face because she really hoped he didn't give up, then we get the picture Dawn drew him with those exact words "don't give up" it's a long wait but it such a special pay off outside of the fact Dawn rescued Tim at the end because she never did give up.

Gary

Brilliantly put!

Static CentreHalf

Love that. Congrats!

Static CentreHalf

Loved reliving this with you guys 🥰

Andrea Logan

I just looked up the actor who plays Neil and he was only 31 here, how the hell, he looks 40+ lol

Mark McKeown

Definitely, I've always thought this. I think when the camera's pointed at him he can't help but try too hard, say too much and put on an act - his date works out well because the camera doesn't stay with him, we don't see it.

David Mannion

Most good series come to an end after two or more series. Only other ones I can think off that didn't run out of steam were The Sopranos, The Wire and Breaking Bad, but those are a different kettle of fish.

Keg

I fall in love with Dawn all over again every time I rewatch the show

James Aston

When this was originally shown I was single, basically waiting for a girl I was in love with at work to leave her dickhead boyfriend. So the Tim/Dawn moment was bittersweet, imagining what that kiss would be like but knowing it probably wouldn't happen. It didn't but 20 years later I've found my Dawn, we've been married for nearly 10 years and have two daughters so it hits slightly differently now!

Arlasoft

I love how emotional you guys got at the end. It was the first time I've properly watched the office UK in its entirety and it was a pleasure to enjoy it with you both. FYI I felt exactly the same at the end! Thankyou xx

Matt Draper

how so?

James

It’s such a wholesome ending! Proper feel good.

MarkCity10

I disagree, the writing is absolutely abysmal and is sadly just Ricky basically playing himself and sharing his real world views. Every season starts and ends the exact same, sorry I'm such a twat then he's back to being a twat its absolutely shocking 😂😂😂

Johnathon Healey

I'm crying at the show but then crying even more looking at your tearful reactions!!😂🥰🥹

Sinead R

Yayyyyy I couldn't wait for your reactions to the oil paints and the kiss!🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

Sinead R

Please do bloopers too

Fuckerage

If memory serves, the original song Brent starts dancing to with Carol was Boney M's Mary's Boy Child. Guess even the Beeb couldn't afford that tune after initial broadcast 🙃

Si

You would never have got that ending without Stephen Merchant.

Dave Roberts

An exceptional bit of telly that will never, ever fail to have me in a puddle. It's also important to note that even though it's hugely powerful and moving, it's executed in such a quietly dignified way that just makes it all the more real. It really is special. Watching with you two, that sense of anticipation for that moment we've all been waiting for since you started S1 Ep1, all comes to fruition and it was magical. Will be returning to this reaction (and the whole series to be honest) for a long time to come. EDIT - As for the movie - I'd never dictate to you what you shouldn't watch. Can only give my opinion, and that this, right here and now, is the true ending. The movie, if you decide to watch, may sour that somewhat and because you clearly loved this so much I couldn't in all honesty recommend it. It doesn't add anything. But of course it is, and always was, your choice.

Phil Robinson

It's the perfect last episode, glad yous loved it.

Austin GT

Finchy now playing Galactus in FF

Luke Gale9

Loved this guys! The IT guy you mentioned is the same guy (Matthew Holness) who created Garth Marenghi’s darkplace, which is excellent. I think you had it in one of the polls - well worth a watch!

Karl

Yaz, only you will be forever Dawn and Tim’s song for me.

Paul Hennessey

Extras is as perfect as the office, life’s too short leans more into the comedy with less heart, derek is more heart with a bit less comedy. All are amazing.

mwdoom

"Chris, why don't you fuck off?" Such a satisfying moment. Jess's evil laugh straight after was so good.

White Dwarf

Still the greatest 10 minutes of television I've ever experienced. Sensational

Cal Evans

not like that

Brad Johnson

The show is so good because it's brutally relatable but I'm glad Ricky and Steve caved and gave us a happy ending

Brad Johnson

❤️

mwdoom

Seeing Ralph Ineson as Finchy and then as Galactus in the new Fantastic Four film back to back but 22 years apart in wild.

Robert McMillan

mwdoom

He did several song videos , Equality Street being one, they're on the movie DVD/Blu-Ray extras and YouTube.

Fordy7169

Lump in throat and tears with you guys at the end 💯👌❤️

Adam G

Personally. If I was to continue down Gervais' arc, I opt for Afterlife. I first approached it a few years back interested but, at the same time, determined not to like it. Tbh, I was a bit fed up with Gervais's shtick: his Hollywoodisation, celeb name dropping, pals with the rich and rotton, not to mention some of the lazy and tired comedy rabbit holes he was going down in some of his stand up work. But Afterlife surprised me. It is incredibly well written, the acting is very understand, it has no other than Diane Morgan (aka Philomena Cunk) and Joe 'naming men's penises' Wilkinson in it. I also felt that, for probably the first time, Gervais wasn't just playing a version of himself.

Paul08031977

Mike just so you know... 1) A meaningful relationship ✅ 2) A decent job of work ✅ 3) To make a difference ✅ Fact.

Adam G

It's definitely mayor. Basically she's saying she hasn't got any ties to the place, but with an extreme exaggeration.

Jamie

I'm with you on that

Paul08031977

Not saying I haven't seen the film, though. But, just like the Inbetweeners films, it didn't need to be made. Still, all power to Mike and Jess if they do react to it. It's just that they both looked so content with how things panned out.

Paul08031977

I know everyone talks about the Dawn and Tim moment, but honestly, for me, it was David telling Finchy to fuck off. It crystallised the whole series perfectly. Which us why I wouldn't bother watching the film. Personally I don't think it's very good at all. They'd found the end for David's arc - and the mid credit end was all that needed to be said. In the nicest possible way - I don't care/or want to know what happened next

Paul08031977

Same! 😆

Si

Amazing. Twenty two years later and that moment has never lost its magic and it's even better watching it with you two.

ElvisLee

Question: What is it that Dawn says exactly at the 10:32 mark? I was always conditioned into thinking it's 'They haven't made me mayor yet' cause that's what the Dutch subtitles on the DVD I've worn out for the past 20 years translate to, and I've also found that on online transcriptions, but I really can't see any meaning or comedy behind that phrase. When I turn on the captions for this video it says 'They haven't made me mad yet' which makes a little more sense, but I'm still not sure. Anyone can shed more light? Otherwise, pretty much as perfect as any piece of television can get. I'm so grateful you two managed to remain spoiler-free all the way, made your reactions to the resolution of the Tim & Dawn storyline all the more gratifying. And 'dddduck pppaté' is something I think to myself anytime I look at my phone or some piece of paper in a faux-concentrated way just to bridge an awkward silence.

Flemish Giant

Loved your reactions - been great re-watching this with you guys. The 'making of' video would also make a great reaction. https://youtu.be/iLFjpMCzuNs?si=eHw0WgvPKY8pjvd0

James Hoy

Check out the David Brent video equality street with Doc Brown

Josh Read

Before the movie, I'd recommend the David Brent - Lady Gypsy video.

SM

We got him! We finally cracked Mike ! 😁

emu cat

It always feels strange watching these back. The Office captures the zeitgeist of the early 2000s like nothing else I've seen, and that weird period where those last vestiges of nineties hangover were starting to dissipate. That post-millennium, pre-recession world occupies this strange cultural purgatory and I can't quite work out how it makes me feel. Slough, like the rest of the world, is a very very different place twenty plus years on.

Charlie

Brilliant. Only show that comes near for sentimentality is the other Ricky Ger ais show 'Derek' You muat get to that onr day.

Terry Cooper

Amazing reaction - love you guys! The movie is rubbish btw - I would avoid it, let this be your ending!

bobby g

Been watching this every year or two now for 20-years. Still gets me. Glad you enjoyed it.

James

Probably a bit of both as he clearly despises her 🤣

Johnathon Healey

The one time Lee showed Dawn the tiniest bit of affection backfired. He made the effort he went get her Secret Santa present before they left.

David Benge

Such a shame Ricky and Steve didn't do more. Ricky got way too big by hosting the Golden Globes to be bumped to a duo even if he starred in it

Danny

Wishing you both the best!

Andy B

The perfect ending, I always feel like there’s a bit of truth to what David say’s about how the documentary was compiled - maybe not to the extent he feels though

Kieran B

I don’t think Tim was offering to go for a drink with David to annoy the girl but because he felt sorry for David

Kieran B

Gets me every time 🥲

Craigid Dave

Yeah, if she's got a good personality.

Adam G

This reaction was the best ever, Jess sliding down the chair 🤣

Andy McCann

Fuck sake, I've got so much shit to do and you drop this... To phrase Mike "let's get into this"

Adam G

PLEASE do the bloopers now that you've finished.

James Thorley

I have a feeling Taylor would get The (UK) Office a lot sooner than Stephen. But that's ok, she'll explain it to him 😂

Simon Crockford

Perfect. Genious. Best show ever.

Hugo Lindmark

Perfect timing! Just heading to the hospital for what will hopefully be my other half’s final radiotherapy session so it will be nice to have this to watch - have been looking forward to it since you started the Office!

Kieran B

Without doubt the best ending to a series ever! Dawn walking back in with Only You by Yazoo playing.......It's David's face when Tim & Dawn walkaway, he looks genuinely pleased for them - so heartwarming! The whole thing is genius!!

Matt Harwood

I’ve been waiting for you guys to see ‘that’ moment. Best possible ending! ❤️ Brent telling Finchy to fuck off and Dawn kissing Tim, both within a couple of minutes of each other, was too much for my emotions to handle. I thought I was gonna explode.

Emma Edwards

I’ve never watched this episode before . I love Dawn she’s adorable

Erica

Great reaction Mike & Jess

The Puzzler 99

Perfect television. And then Extras, on the same level of genius and different enough to be fresh.

Simon Gildea

Amazing show, amazing reaction. Loved it!!

Chris H

Absolutely masterful sentence to end the show with.

Dan G, Leicester

Loved watching the again through you guys. No matter how many times I see it, that moment Dawn comes back for Tim is just incredible

James Aston

Initially a throwaway moment but on rewatch/reflection, just beautiful. No hyperbole, the episode is literal perfection.

Darrell Pringle

Waiting for over an hour for you to react to the moment Dawn walks back in 🙌 Jess sliding down her chair and her hat sliding down her face was the chef's kiss to a brilliant reaction 🤗

Josh Read

The behind the scenes documentary and the bloopers are the real follow up to this and they help deepen your respect for the show (unlike the movie)

Darrell Pringle

Karl didn't teach them that, he asked about it after the episode aired though, then asked 'so if it's all about arse, why don't gays like a bit of tit?' lol.

Paul CF

Bishop Muzorewa!

Charlie

Such a perfect ending. Extras one day please!

Matt H

BEST REACTION EVER!!! (and thanks for "making a difference" Mike and Jess! xxx

Carol

emotional damage

mark

I would advice not to watch the movie. This was the perfect ending of the show

Michael McMahon

Couldn't agree more.

Static CentreHalf

Thanks, crying again. Still an absolute masterpiece.

Darrell Pringle

Forgot how much I loved kieths dialogue in the break room. R.I.P buddy

Antony Green

Great watching this again with you guys! So glad you enjoyed it. Such a good ending 😊 Look forward to the David Brent movie, definitely worth watching. Full of cringe again, its fun.

Mark Tremaine

Some of the stuff Ricky says in episodes, like the caveman thing, from what I remember as it's been a few years, is from what Karl "taught" him and Steve back on the old XFM radio shows and early original podcasts etc! can't think what else so far but few times Ricky has used Karl's "teachings" for characters lines in his shows lol

Clarkiie

And why are they all nine inches apart??

Captain Cardboard

A beautiful reaction to one of the most beautifully written and acted shows ever 😊

Bikeaholic

Great reaction and glad there were no spoilers for you. That ending gets me every time.

Phil C

“Have you got everything you need?” Imagine being a writer, at the top of your game. You know exactly where you’re going and you’re playing the audience like a puppet on a string. I used to say Extras was Ricky/Stephen’s best work, but I think I’ve changed my mind again.

Julian

I’ve watched this 1029014 times and don’t remember the Gareth whistling part 😂

Mark

THE nicest thing I've ever seen on YouTube. Thank you both. xx

Static CentreHalf

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are the Writers of the Office. 👻😸

New Fish

The Office, like Fawlty Towers, packs everything in to a tight, and perfect, package. While the temptation to keep going is understandable, keeping things tight and telling the story then ending it, often leads to artistic perfection.

David Smith

For real. I don’t know how I can get any work done now. I need to walk it off or something.

Julian

Perfect writing, perfect music, perfect ending & a perfect reaction & finally Tim gets to wake up at the crack of Dawn every day!!!

Alex Lally

You've got me tearing up before 9am

Joe Blakeley

You guys are so cute

Rachie

Love your reactions, but this one was a special one. 💜

Alan Ridge

Rest in peace Big Keith, you were the man!

Simon Cross

I've watched this series many times but somehow never noticed the Garath trying to whistle bit. Hilarious!

Johnny Johnny

Last ten minutes of this still the best TV ever produced for my money.

Oliver Inwards

I knew you guys would react like this lol. Probably the peak of British television. Life On The Road isn't great, just to temper your expectations, Steve Merchant(and, its rumoured, the other Office actors) wanted nothing to do with it, but there is a hilarious corporate video with David Brent, and Merchant playing a Microsoft staffer, which you should watch. Extras was Ricky and Steve's next show, and has a Christmas special which comes close to that of The Office, in my opinion.

Paul CF

Can’t wait to watch this. Thinking about saving it for Saturday with a cold beer 😎

Ash C

A perfect ending, I’ve loved watching you guys react to one of my favourites 💙

You need to watch The Detectorists , another BBC Show written by and starring Mackenzie Crook (Gareth). It’s beautiful, hilarious and heart warming

Karl hughes

The outtakes/bloopers from when David comes into the office singing Pink are hilarious. Tim can't keep a straight face. You can almost see it in the actual scene. It's either on The Art Of Corpsing or just Office Outtakes on youtube.

Karlos

Please do yourselves a favour and watch the season 2 outtakes, they’re so good!

DG

Please watch David Brent Gypsy Lady before the movie. It’s only a short music video he did as David Brent. But very funny.

Clarky P

Feel like I’ve been waiting forever for you guys to get the big pay off with Tim and Dawn. Gervais and Merchant really couldn’t have written any better. I always tear up when she opens her “secret Santa” from Tim and it just reaffirms that Tim genuinely cares about her and what she wants. The perfect ending for them, and Martin Freeman and Lucy Davis were so good in those roles.

DG

And can we celebrate the true hero of this episode, Jamie - who swapped secret santa name tags with Tim!

Andrew

“It doesn’t explain the nipple” The key question is, what are men’s nipples for?

Julian

Dawn appearing in the background is one of my favourite TV moments.

Chris Carleton

Oh my CHRISTMAS outfit? I thought you said my Birthday Suit. I thought it was a bit chilly......

Andrew PC

Excellent, something to watch when I get home from work tonight.

Richard

I saw you'd dropped this so I've quickly went and dressed as Brent. I do have work in about an hour, so it worked out well.

Karlos

Such a great series and made better by sharing it with you guys.

Harry

Ooh, about to sit down to dinner and click on something else to watch and then saw this! Clicked so fast.

Andrew

ohhhh yess! 👍

TheHigh

When a TV show ends, the hardest part is to nail the landing. But The Office did it!

Captain Cardboard

Just got home from a 12 hour night shift. Already made a cup of tea and smoked a fathead then got a notification for this a day early. Wonderful. Cheers guys!

Ben

Woohoo! Just about to leave for work, so I'll be looking forward to watching this all day!

Captain Cardboard

Mike, Jess, what can I say you brighten up my day no end. I watched your ‘ robot’ intro yesterday it gave me a proper laugh.

Louise Miller
