I can’t wait for you to get past series 1. Peep Show imho is one of the funniest, best written and acted shows ever. Full stop. But as a MEGA fan, I NEVER go back to Series 1. When I re-watch Peep Show I start at season 2. BUT I think as a reaction channel starting with series 1 still makes sense. Maybe like a super edited version with 2 episodes per your own episode?

Peep Show is set in suburban London so if Mark or Jeremy really wanted to not see each other ever again they could as London is feckin' massive.

Hence the title Peep Show. The thoughts of the person whose perspective we’re looking through often come through. I know you’re not a pair of dafties and everyone who ever watched the show blind wondered what the hell was going on. To me the originality of the concept was so exciting at the time.

You gotta remember this is the pilot. Cheaply made to show that the show can work. You'll grow to love these characters and their demented inner monologues.

The first season is definitely a pilot season, finding their way with a style that even David Mitchell and the director have said they realise why no other show does the POV thing, because it’s really bloody hard to make it like that🤣 Season 2 onwards Peep Show is absolutely on its proper journey with a new intro song and everything. But from season 3-4 onwards Peep Show hits this absolute gold standard plateau that it never really dips from - just gliding through hilariously and brilliantly until the end. I already know you’re both going love Johnson, everyone does, and you learn to really laugh at Super Hans - and you’ll relate to Mark and Jez in equal measure for different reasons. Strap in lads and enjoy the ride

But I eventually stuck with it and now it's one of my favourite British sitcoms. Series 1 is definitely a rough ride though, a bit like the animation quality in season 1 of The Simpsons!

2025-08-03 14:05:03 +0000 UTChear me out lol , this may seem like a wall of text and just too much , but its really fast , simple and a better way of watching: it is the *uncensored* and native 480p versions. it takes about 30 seconds to download a episode. just a fyi , most real ways of getting the show like netflix or subs like britbox , don't do it , they have censored parts of the show that are classic (they literally removed a few "offensive scenes") , i know you said this was 1080p but... it isn't , it might be scaled to 1080p then uploaded as , but its not native 100% the main reason I'm suggesting this is for the uncensored versions , i really dont mind about the quality , but i would imagine this also looks better that what you watched, anyways.. il just explain step by step as I've no idea if you know this already :P i suggest this , go to this site and download there , "123 peep show online" them keywords in a search engine (duckduckgo ect) would get you the site (google may not index the site for obvious reasons, the sites are always called 123 movies .domains ect or something similar) when on the site go to the season and episode you want , you may need to enter a "Captcha" at times. when the episode starts to play after you have done the "Captcha", pause it and right click anywhere on the page and not the video and hit "inspect element" or "CNRL+SHIFT+C". you now have the dev tab open , simply look at the very top of this tab and you will see , Elements - Console - Sources - Network - Performance - ect if you don't see network expand it with the >> , hit network. now you have the network tab open , it should be clear , if it is move to next step , if not : just under that original tab you used there will be a red icon (square within a circle) and to the right of that will be a grey circle with a line through it , that should be called "clear network log" hit that. now put you mouse over the video that you had paused and play it , the second it starts to play , you will see the network tab begin to populate , if nothing happens just wait a sec or scub a tiny amount on the video , like 1 or 2 seconds , the populated network tab should be filled with the download link for the episode, this site uses the media icon with its link , green box icon that says "480?name=peep-show ect" , if you like , pause the video so it stops populating that window to make it more clear. simply right click on one of them and hit open in new tab , boom , instantly downloads the full episode in 480p. this might look the same when uploading the reactions ect , but its not censored or upscaled , if you don't have it full screen on your end when watching it will look really good in vlc player or whatever you use to view media sorry for a huge wall of text lmao , but this option is always there if you need it for them specific "episodes" , zero spoilers from me so my comment ends here :P peaccce

But the creators learnt from it and made changes. Season 3 to 7 is largely considered the show's golden era. Both characters are losers in their own different ways - but their dynamic and ridiculous antics produce comedy gold! (oh and Sophie is played by Olivia Coleman - she crops up in lots of comedy shows from the noughties, but then went on to become a huge Oscar winning actress).

I love peep show it gets better I promise(well in terms of cringe it gets worse but that’s part of why it’s funny) . A lot of other people have mentioned the angles and POV , they fine tune it after the first series

2025-08-03 08:50:53 +0000 UTCOne thing that probably makes the POV camera shots even trippier is that I think the first few series were filmed in 4:3 aspect ratio (like most programmes at the time) but have been zoomed in to make them 16:9 wide-screen for DVD and online. From series 2 onwards they switched from using helmet-mounted mini cameras for the POV shots to a camera person just filming over the shoulder of the character whose POV it is, hence the improved quality from series 2 that people have mentioned. Oh, and of course eventually it switches from being in SD to HD, but that's several series away.

2025-08-03 07:53:27 +0000 UTCBeen meaning to rewatch Peepshow for a while now, was going to watch king boomers reaction when I subscribed to his channel but I fins his reaction are so fake and personally I find him annoying as he thinks he's funny but he's just a dick head . Season one isn't the best but it's still has, funny moment's , I look at it a pilot season . Season 3 onwards it's pure comedy gold and the formula is tightened as are the camera shots, you will not believe the things these idiots get up to. The recurring characters are excellent also, I'm pretty sure when you first meet Mark's boss you will love him, he's a crowd favourite throughout. As other state the POV ( peep show view) improves in seadon 2 as at the time many viewers were disoriented and they tighten it up to less motion sickness inducing transitions and wobbly cam work as the get professionals in once it was fully commissioned. HD versions kick in later too so the quality of output is much higher from season 2 and full HD seadon 5 inwards I think. Watch out for edited episodes depending on your source!

And yes, as I and others have mentioned the camera work gets better and the show just keeps getting better and better :-) Episode 4 will test you hahahaha

International audiences would probably know her from The Crown, where she played Queen Elizabeth 2nd for a while. Brilliant actress and a lovely person, but mad as a brush (in a good way). She is also close friends with David Mitchell and Robert Webb, as they all attended Cambridge University together.

Please stick with it though, as Series 2 is where it starts to take shape, and Series 3 onwards is where it hits its stride. The filming style also improves alot. Small bit of trivia. It was almost cancelled after series 1 due to low ratings and Channel 4 disliking it, but was saved by none other than Ricky Gervais, who championed the show from the beginning.
