I still support my suggestion of Oberyn Martell, if for no other reason than the fact that giving a TYRELL control over the Seven Kingdoms' intelligence gathering would probably give poor Stannis a heart attack. :P

2025-08-10 21:11:42 +0000 UTCIf Margery could convince him, Olenna would probably make a good Mistress of Whispers. Not sure how open that appointment would be or how he could be convinced of her loyalty, but she's the only one who probably has an active market of secrets going on in Westeros. Or someone from Dorne, though they'd probably be more focused on Essos, but the assumption would be whispers in Westeros over Essos, and I'd assume Olenna has the better system in Westeros. Margery would also probably push harder for Olenna than Arianne would recommend any of the people running their markets, as much as she's friends with secretive grunts. Maybe Margery could be the bridge to get Olenna, backed by Axel, to take over Qoren's intelligence aparatus. IDK, Axel hasn't been good for the markets of secrets he's touched. Maybe he can just brute force honesty, but I don't think he'd be satisfied with that the more he thinks about it. There's a reason he increased the taste testers, after all. Master of Secrets is a similar necessity.

Didn't mention who's it was, but "And besides, even if she had been telling the truth about sleeping with Axel Baratheon before she tried to kill him, it wasn’t like anything came of it… unfortunately." is pretty explicit.
