Hard watch this. I grew up on Rugby League, being a Leeds Rhino’s season ticket holder since I was in high school, watching the team with Rob and Kevin win trophy’s etc. Rob Burrow, Kevin and Keith Senior all came to our school once to run a PE Rugby session which was also incredible.

Liam Parkinson

Thanks for this guys. If you want to watch something that is so inspirational and so tragic at the same time, this is it. I salute him (R.I.P. Rob) and my heart goes out to his family and friends. What a great loss he must be, but let him always continue to inspire you. 💙

It's a tough one, I knew it had happened but never really knew him as a player as League isn't really a thing up here. Unfortunately the same happened to a Union player, Doddie Weir who passed away in 2022 after being diagnosed in 2016. He was a Scotland international, British and Irish lion and captained the Newcastle Falcons. 6'6" so a monster of a man. Me and a mate were fortunate enough to meet him when we had a couple games in hospitality at Murrayfield - which he used to host. We were there the final year he hosted it. It still shocks me how quickly MND takes hold of someone.

Andy

Why? Why Would M&J react to that (and why would we watch it?) when we've all just seen a vastly superior player who everyone loved. There would be no point.

Static CentreHalf

It's all Rugby mate, just different codes.

MarkeB

I was gonna give this a miss since I don’t watch rugby, but glad I watched it. Also glad you didn’t stick rigidly to the polls and went with your instinct. Hope it’s not the last time you do that.

Julian

Anything with Rob Burrow and by extension, Kevin Sinfield supporting him is a hard, bitter-sweet watch. I'm a huge Rugby League (and Union) fan, supporting Wigan Warriors but Rob Burrow transcended club rivalries and really united the Rugby world. The way he tackled MND was humbling and inspiring and whenever I'm feeling sorry for myself, I listen to his final message, give myself an uppercut and realise it's all very manageable. "Rob Burrow, over and out". 😥

MarkeB

Great reaction👍🏻rest in peace rob.

Superclarky666

I'm not a rugby league watcher, watching this for first time with you and shed tears at the end, very sad but respect to him how he handled an awful situation, thoughts with his family.

BrizeeB

As a Kiwi I’m thinking “who?” Then I realised it was Rugby League not Rugby. Thought it was Super Rugby not Super League. Never heard of it

SimonNZ

A GIANT of a man... truly inspirational human on and off the field ❤️

Adam G

Have you ever react to a Hakka?

Tim Covill

Going to skip this one as I will find it far too emotional. Rugby League is a sport that’s mainly played in England at least, in what was historically Lancashire and Yorkshire in the north of the country. Outside of these areas, most people would struggle to even name the 12 Super League teams. But everyone knew about Rob’s battle. It’s a story of real courage in the face of impossible odds. What a man. RIP.

Thomas

Im a castleford tiger fan which is 10 mins away from Leeds (our rival tea). He was a local lad from Castleford as are his parents. Could always see as kids he was gonna be something special in the sport. And he was. Such a shame what happened to him. But was a pleasure to of watched him and grew up around him

Mark Rudd

Such an inspirational person, there’s a couple of other documentaries on Rob Burrow you should check out

Jason

I used to play as a Winger in Union at school and my mate who was the Captain said I was the only person he’d see bounce when they hit the ground 😆 I’m only a smidge taller than Rob so I’m glad you don’t see height Mike 😂 I was the smallest on the team but none of my mates who were fast (we were all sprinters and did 400m relay as a team too) were particularly tall.

Kieran B

Gosh guys, that one got me in tears. What a talent!

Sam Carr

From the perspective of a Leeds Rhinos supporter and just a human being Rob was absolutely amazing. He was a Seahawks fan as well, as am I, and I believe the official UK Sea Hawkers supporters club made him an honorary lifetime member a few years ago. We also did some extra fundraising for his MND charity when he died, just an incredible bloke, as is Kevin Sinfield

Kieran B

As you had probably already looked up, Rob passed away in June of last year and between his diagnosis and then over £11 million was raised by him and Kevin Sinfield. Nobody really knows how much more was raised in addition for MND charities by those who were inspired by them, but it'll be many £millions on top. Two remarkable men. Oh, and thank you guys - a lovely reaction piece.

Static CentreHalf

Thank you for reacting to this. Rob was a legend and his friendship with Kevin Sinfield... oh boy, EVERYBODY needs a Kevin Sinfield in their life, that moment when he carried Rob over the line at the end of the Leeds Marathon has me in floods of tears just thinking on it. More power to Kev and Rest in peace, Rob x

Andy Oliver

What a guy! I don't know of any particular videos to recommend but you ought to look into the journey from his diagnosis to his passing. His friendship with Kevin Sinfield and their joint efforts to fundraise and raise awareness are amazing! If you think you're sobbing now... ❤️

Stephen Williams

Thank you so much for reacting to this. Robs story needs to be known by more than just Rugby League fans

Rob Burrow 26 Sept 1982 - 2 Jun 2024 He was so inspirational and just an incredible player. I had the joy and fortune of following his entire career as a Rhinos fan and it was an amazing group of players and Rob was always one of the stars of it. There are a couple of other documentaries as well that I think may be in the playlist (but appreciate it may also be too much too soon) that follows his fight behind the scenes against this awful disease and raising awareness. You also learn and appreciate how amazing his wife Lindsay is. And how much Kevin Sinfield love his mate and will put his body through anything to raise money and awareness to fight MND. But they are amazing, emotional documentaries and are worth a watch for anyone who would like to search them out. I was there at the testimonial for Rob, the one at the end where their names are in gold, and I was in tears in the stand. We all were. It was only a few weeks I think since it was announced he had MND and i'd heard him talk about it. When he got on the mic his voice sounded robotic and it shocked me, I didnt realise how quickly it would take effect. Robs life was people telling him he cant and he wont. From being a kid being told he was too small to make it, to being diagnosed and saying he would only have so long to live Rob was an expert in defying the odds. As he says himself he 'had too many reasons to live'. RIP Rob Burrow

Daz Parker

I have only one quote written in my phone: "My final message to you is, whatever your personal battle, be brave and face it. Every single day is precious. Don't waste a moment. In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream. Rob Burrow, over and out."

Rachie

Life's not fair indeed.

Fordy7169

Legend RIP 🙏 🕊

Dango247

Pocket Rocket is not a disrespectful term. They were just surprised that someone who was so short, could be so successful. Sadly, Rob Burrows lost his battle with Motor Neurone Disease, and passed away just recently. A rugby league legend, and an inspiration to others, who'll never be forgotten. Thank you for this reaction.

Fulvio Zottola

An absolute legend and hero. RIP💙

Sinclair Brechin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
