Due to shorter commercial breaks in the UK compared to the US, UK producers had to add approximately four extra minutes of content per episode. As a result, additional musical numbers like “Mah Na Mah Na” were included to fill the time and satisfy British broadcasters’ scheduling requirements.

P.S. the Welsh girl from Swindon's comment to Brent about being offended on someone else's behalf and him having only 1 non-white member of staff highlights the start of the DEI wokery which has become prevalent through-out this century. She desperately wants to be seen a 'good right-on' person, ironically the same as Brent does, but he doesn't quite pull it off. Her moral superiority comes into question in a later episode though.

They were a kind of shit prefect back in the day when every primary school child was given a free half-pint bottle of milk every day by the government. All part of a drive to ensure kids had a healthy start to the school day. Margaret Thatcher, then a mere government minister for education, caused uproar when she decided to axe the milk. There were massive protests but to no avail, and Mrs T became known as “Thatcher, The Milk Snatcher’ long before the old bat became the so-called Iron Lady. The milk was delivered in crates to each classroom, and the milk monitor had the task of handing the bottles out and all the empties collected.

Affairs are a normal part of life, even after marriage. It doesn't make it right or something that should be promoted but let's not pretend every relationship and marriage is perfect and neither partner should ever seek someone else. Yes ideally you leave one relationship before starting another but we don't live in an ideal World and life is complicated and sh*t happens when we least expect it. Once kids are involved then there is more responsibility and need to put aside your own feelings.

I work with a bunch of guys at my work and we're really pally. to misinterpret it as romantic (Lee) is his own insecurity/mistrust of Dawn, something that he needs to work on. but then this just leads to the argument/debate that men and women cannot just be friends.

2025-06-17 14:17:30 +0000 UTCAmerican office, like all US comedy shows and some UK sit coms, had cut-out cookie characters and the mocumentary style barely exists, the UK version has more realistic personalities with flaws and realistic motivations more in fitting with a documentary and all the more clingier and funny for it IMO.

Maybe put up a video of your setup and we can give you some tips? It’s no fun having these kinds of issues when you appear to have decent equipment. I’m guessing you have a fairly recent PC so there’s no reason why it can’t handle it. Especially as you must be going through an ASIO interface with the XLR connections. Let us know what we can do to help because we love the reactions so we don’t want these kinds of technical difficulties to keep happening 🫡👍

And as you learn the further it goes, Lee is a bit of a dick who kind of dictates what Dawn does in life and doesn’t consider her aspirations, whereas Tim genuinely cares about her.
