2025-06-03 17:48:40 +0000 UTCQuite common, especially in pubs, cafés and fast food outlets to end up sharing a table with someone you don’t know, not just in the UK but other parts of Europe as well. Not so common in “proper” restaurants though, you know, the type of place you might take your wife for a romantic dinner. Do expect to be asked if the seats are free if you are a couple on a table for four when it’s busy. It is a bit weird though if someone does it when there are other empty tables😂
