2025-07-27 23:03:29 +0000 UTCTotally picked Option #1, because I wanna see how "Black Widow" plays out when Yelena's original plan of getting Avengers help (via Natasha) to free the other Widows from their mind control actually plays out via Team Thad...plus the bonus of Team Thad scooping up and reformatting the Red Room for their own purposes (after freeing the other Widows and letting them have a choice, for once) is neat. My only question is how Yelena's status as an asexual or aromantic character (at least in the MCU) will play into things, unless Thad's "magical healing cum" also adjusts her brain chemistry to "fix" it. While having aro/ace representation in popular media is a good thing...Yelena in particular being one seems to be something that gets ignored in a fair bit of MCU-sourced Marvel fanfic. Probably because it's never been outright stated in dialogue...and all the Yelena/Kate (from Florence & Hailee Steinfeld's chemistry in 'Hawkeye') and Yelena/Bucky (since the MCU ignored the comics relationship history of Nat & Bucky before the former's death, why not sub in her little sister) shippers would have nothing to write about. That being said...I'm a hypocrite and would love to see Yelena tag-team Thad with her big sister, or solo him to get her Red Room graduation ceremony "gift" reversed 😉
