Obviously a lot don't outgrow those fairy tales or do their best to convince themselves they've seen things. I don't know any adults who aren't in hospital who see things or have imaginary friends like children do.

So if you don’t want people to know either way you ask to be called Ms. Only ever met one person who wanted to be called Ms. A very haughty and stern old supply teacher. We surmised that she must have been so grumpy that no-one would ever marry her, which in turn made her even more grumpy so made everyone call her Ms so as far as she was concerned, for all anyone knew she was indeed married. But we’d all worked out that if she had been she’d, a) be a bit less grumpy (perhaps) and, b) she’d call herself Mrs.

The police chased her to a cliff top. She ended up falling off the cliff whilst holding the stolen diamonds, hence Lucy in the sky with diamonds. The movie rights are still for sale.

We were given an assignment to write a poem about the end of the world, and I just copied David Bowie’s Five Years word for word, apart from ‘the black’ and ‘queer’. Our English teacher singled me out for praise and asked me to read it out to the class. I had to remember not to sing it.
