This is my favourite reactions you’ve done and as it goes my favourite episode of the Inbetweeners. Rewatching this you realise how good the writing is and how this is a key moment in Jay’s character arc. He lies and exaggerates because he has no confidence in himself so over-compensates and it has to be down to how his father belittles and borderline bullies him in front of people. Mike nailed it when he called the dad out when the dad said ‘look mate..’ before diving into misogynistic dreadful ‘advice’ when he should have said ‘look son…’ and done some proper parenting, father to son. You see the lurking side of Jay, it’s not all bravado and deep down he just wants to be accepted and loved (sorry for sounding a bit Hollywood 🤣). You guys are really picking up on the underlying themes of this series which is very impressive not only on a first watch of a show but also given it is so intrinsically ‘British’. I have rewatched this series countless times as I love it so much but I hadn’t picked up on how they come together at the end of season 1 and 2. Bravo guys, you’re nailing this and I’m pleased I personally feel I am getting more than my moneys worth subscribing! Looking forward to season 3

The scary thing is how relatable Inbetweeners is, even to an old git like me in my 60s. The uniforms, the exam scene in the gymnasium, the sheer panic over revising etc. Nothing has changed. I’m just grateful that we didn’t have the technology, otherwise I, too, might have been that stalker 😳. We could only call the home phone and hope that mum, dad or worse-still big brother didn’t pick up the call.

I remember shedding a tear or two over Jays hertbreak when this episode was first broadcast, and now, as a 61 year old man, I find myself shedding a tear or two again. Although it was a long time ago that I was their age it sometimes seems like just yesterday, and yes, I remember thinking I was in love, and I remember getting my heart broke...quite a few times LOL ....They say youth is wasted on the young and how right they are, but being niave and stupid is a right of passage and long may it be just so. Now I have the gift of experience and I realise that what I thought was important at the time...really wasn't...If I knew then what I know now.... and all that.......Great reaction Mike and Jess....Love yer both!!

Regarding the youtube BS, you can just have something over the video like a black box covering the screen and then have it 70% transparent as this can get past the copyright stuff or have the words for copyright purposes over the screen from edge to edge in say 3 or 4 lines, but still having the video visible enough for the youtube wankers to see it. Do you know there's loads of deleted scenes for this show and bloopers, and there is the video comparing the USA version VS the UK, maybe you could look at them all also before you start the films.
