Saturday Music Reaction Poll for May 10th 🎶
Added 2025-05-03 16:00:07 +0000 UTCHey friends!
It’s time to vote for our Saturday music reaction! 🎸🎤
We’re doing something a little different this week. After the poll where David Bowie won, a lot of you mentioned that the song we picked wasn’t the best place to start. That got us thinking, and we agree. We want to dive a little deeper when it makes sense.
So for this week's poll, it’s going to be all David Bowie themed! 🧑🎤
And after thinking it over even more, we decided we’re going to start doing album mini-series. Instead of trying to tackle an entire album in one video, we’ll go through 3 to 4 songs at a time. This way we can actually experience albums properly without it taking forever, and it gives you all something consistent to look forward to along the way.
Whatever wins this poll will be reacted to and uploaded on Saturday, May 10th and will begin our album mini-series.
Thanks for being on this journey with us. We’re really excited about this next chapter! 💚💜
Anymore suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, so I should definitely read your entire post, Mike and Jess, before commenting! I assume you plan on reacting to EVERY song on an album of our choice? That makes it very simple for us. We've definitely picked the right album to listen to, too. One suggestion though! After you have listened to Ziggy Stardust, how about you react to a documentary about the album? That would really fill in the missing pieces for you.

My suggestion: go chronologically, because from his first hit onwards he was a genius leading the way in popular culture, so trying to decide between starting with Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is pointless. We will all bicker until the cows come home about which song or which album is the best and where to start. You might as well short-circuit that and just learn the way we did in real time! That means start with Space Oddity, which is an incredible song and referred back to in his final great album, Scary Monsters and Super Creeps, at the end of the 70s with Ashes to Ashes. Then move on to The Man Who Sold The World, with the hit song the name of the album too. It was covered by Nirvana with an acoustic version. Then Hunky Dory, where he really starts to get into his stride, although you'll have trouble picking a best song, there are so many! Same goes for Ziggy Stardust: Starman, Five Years etc. Try picking one out of all the incredible tracks on there!
