Oohhhh....a Widsom of Solomon reference is spotted in the wild! Nice bit of expectation flipping though, Cambrian, by having it be from Jon Arryn instead of Axel...Jon's got a lot mistake baggage on his back at this point but I do appreciate the fact that he's able to provide Axel with solid governance wisdom from his years of managing the kingdom in Robert's stead. That being said...Jon's continued defence of Littlefinger against Axel's pointed questions is a huge mark against Lord Arryn, even putting aside our knowledge of Baelish being a giant bag of rotting shit. It would be one thing if Robert had racked up the six million golden dragon debt mostly from a massive spending spree done in the last couple of years of his life...but the official narrative is that the debt covers basically the entirety of Robert's reign as King, so Littlefinger being so willing to just let him spend, spend, spend without counterbalancing is a huge mark against him as the man in charge of the royal finances. Not even the likelihood of Jon getting merc'd by Littlefinger to cover his tracks when Jon starts to consult with him over who is owed money, then noticing just how sketchy Littlefinger's bookkeeping really is, really helps to make Jon's blindness sit better.

2025-07-03 19:14:44 +0000 UTCFor some reason I couldn't help but think about all the ways a viltrumite would destroy the Iron bank. Like they have the titan and everything, but westeros has axel. Also the iron bank may always get it's due, but when they got all their money taken suddenly they owe dues to a lot more people. And to get it back you just have to kill a god, easy money.

2025-07-01 07:34:40 +0000 UTCHeya, you might have missed it but Myrcella was sent to be raised at Storm's End alongside Shireen when Stannis was given the Lord Paramouncy of the Stormlands! Tywin tried to get Myrcella when he made the deal for Cersei, but Axel shut that down.

2025-07-01 04:45:38 +0000 UTCDude, I love going into the debt issue as a chapter. However, I need to point out an error you're making as an author. And that's not keeping track of all your characters. For example, I'm pretty sure you stated that Myrcella was still alive and in KL. Yet you haven't so much as mentioned her despite her literally living in the same castle. It's even more important given Cersei was sleeping with Axel, tried to kill him and then sent away yet not a freaking peep as to either Myrcella's fate or reaction to any of this. Do not do what hack writers do which is ignoring her until she becomes relevant then write ten paragraphs as to her reactions to everything that happened before. GRRM's writing is great because he never does that beyond the most recent events. People don't flashback their entire life in the real world so it shouldn't occur in writing either. You just wrote three very short chapters which could have been better if you added the POV of Myrcella, Tywin, Tyrion, etc. Take advantage of these interlude chapters to do that.

2025-07-01 00:05:28 +0000 UTCNow why would Axel doubt someone as trustworthy as Littlefinger? Why Jon would trust him with his wife. I mean life!
