I voted for razzle-dazzling Rogue before V eventually meets either Hanako at the Festival. Why waste all the good planning momentum by holding off till after the meeting with Hanako, especially if getting Rogue fully on-side could allow extra benefits and options for counter-playing any moves Hanako tries to make?

It will be difficult and V may have to work through layers and layers of Daddy issues as well as anticipate and counter any machinations she may put in place but I believe it can be done. Smack her down enough times coupled with actually taking her and her input seriously and I can see her coming onboard as a partner eventually. She will probably never be subservient but she doesn't need to be and I can see the tender loving angle working on Hanako maybe even more effectively than on Rogue. Nobody can tell me that there isn't a pitt or kernel of resentment somewhere in Hanako towards her Father. The dutiful daughter always overlooked for the rebels, the perfect daughter always doing what is expected of her and getting little in return because why reward behavior that is expected and believed to be owed. Hanako is a resource just waiting to be tapped. Alt, Hanako and Rogue on the same team, and to an extent Michiko as well! Nobody would expect it which would make it the ultimate power move. In case it wasn't clear, i voted for the Hanako option because I believe that if this unlikely dream team up is to happen V needs to start laying ground work with Hanako. Her father's engram hasn't approached her and may never approach her. Challenge her, wheedle at her, get her thinking. She's basically been a mascot or a porcelain doll for her father to show off. Woman is 78 years old for all that cyberware and bioengineering have given her the body of a 30-40 year old woman. And what does she have to show for all that time? Her father ignoring her abilities (mentioned in an earlier chapter), her father favoring Kei (whom she never grew to care for even if he cared for her) over her, then spent a lot of effort and time to bring Michiko and Yorinobu back into the fold when they left the family, even though he had a dutiful daughter who could take over (though Hanako did play a part in the reconciliation of Yorinobu and Saburo so not sure what angle you would go with there). The one thing I didn't understand from the pc game was why Hanako was on board with overwriting her brother in the first place. In the lore, they were very close. Closer to each other than to any of their other family members ( at least from the ttrpg lore). Why would she go along with a artificial copy of her father taking over her flesh and blood brother. Don't get me wrong, loved the game but that part never really made sense to me. Then again with this logic, with this logic getting her to turn on her brother would be difficult. Or rather would have been if he didn't actually try to kill her in the game which also didn't make sense because he vowed to save her from their father. Then again that could just be a result of yori crashing out π
