I never give money to charities unless they're the bigger more trustworthy ones, even then I'd rather just volunteer or do something hands-on. Once worked for a company where we built a website for a charity. The owners of the charity turned up in a bentley and a rolls royce wearing suits totalling thousands. Their attitude in the meeting towards pricing was essentially "we don't care, we're not paying for it". Obviously never going to give to that charity but there's loads out there like that.
