With Oasis the crowd are always far better than the band.

2025-03-10 16:13:46 +0000 UTCI grew up with Love and Electric. I've seen Ian Astbury live not the cult but I rek it would've been a good fit if he filled in for Ian Brown during those years, if he lost the leather pants heh. Be better than Slash joining the Roses imo.

2025-03-09 16:25:29 +0000 UTCWell you are obviously an Oasis fan, so your hardly impartial are you? To say they are one of the greatest bands in the world is just ridiculous. Noel Gallagher is the biggest plagiarist the world has ever known. There are at least 20 songs with riffs or exact chord structures of music from other artists.

2025-03-09 15:40:52 +0000 UTCIf you are doing don't look back in anger you should do the one live in Argentina. The crowd is amazing in that one.

2025-03-09 14:48:42 +0000 UTCInteresting. They did love a 12inch remix back in the 80s, I wonder if that was it. If you bought the 12inch vinyl single, you’d get the original track, a remixed version, sometimes 2 remixed versions and a couple of B-sides. One of the strangest B-sides I remember was Def Leppard doing a deliberately awful version of Engelbert Humperdinck’s Please Release Me, with their tour manager on vocals. It’s hilarious.

2025-03-09 07:59:05 +0000 UTCEven if people were being asked to vote for wonderwall, which they’re not, it wouldn’t be a sad indictment but instead a ridiculous comment. They’re one of the greatest bands in the world only beaten by the likes of Queen, The Beatles & The Rolling Stones. Their music is timeless and will always be around and will always be reacted to. It would be a sad indictment if it wasn’t reacted to

2025-03-09 04:35:39 +0000 UTCI wanted to vote for the Cult or Fleetwood Mac but I thought the only chance I’d have with a tactical vote would be Fleetwood Mac so I went with that. Luckily anything that doesn’t win stays in ‘the pot’ and will come around again. A former colleague I was friendly with told me about a 17min version of She Sells Sanctuary that was played at a party he was at back in the day, where the build up to the main chorus just kept getting looped until the party was at fever pitch.

2025-03-08 20:06:53 +0000 UTCThe laughable thing is the only people who seriously thought they were in the same universe as The Beatles were Oasis themselves.

2025-03-08 19:05:05 +0000 UTCI was in the same class at school with The Cult’s drummer Mark Brzezicki. He was also in Big Country, played with The Who and Procul Harem in that Whiter Shade of Pale video everyone seems to react to. Funnily, he would have been the one least likely to be a rock star among all the classmates.

2025-03-08 18:58:42 +0000 UTCWho in their right mind is voting for Oasis? It is a sad indictment that Don't look back in anger has 47% of the voting against some great music.
Clem Fandango
2025-03-08 18:45:27 +0000 UTCDavid gray was a close second, but had to pick don’t look back in anger.

2025-03-08 18:34:09 +0000 UTCLooks like a slam dunk, but there are some good songs which hopefully will reappear on the list. The Cult are an amazingly underrated band. She Sells Sanctuary is one of my favourite songs of the 80s. I saw them a couple of years ago, they still put on a great show.

2025-03-08 18:15:41 +0000 UTCMaybe it’s Sally from Worzel Gummidge.

2025-03-08 18:08:59 +0000 UTCIt's Alright Ma is possibly the greatest song ever written, lyrically. The fact Bob was only around 23/24 when he wrote it is incredible.

2025-03-08 18:04:49 +0000 UTCEasy win for Oasis it seems but so much good stuff on the list, I do wish it wasn't the video and was the Live at Buenos Aires video but its a great song

2025-03-08 17:35:21 +0000 UTC..Yup. Although, weirdly I have more time for Liam than I do Noel now, but it used to be the opposite. ..Noel is a really pretentious prick who's forgotten his working class roots. ..Liam seems far more grounded and humble.

2025-03-08 17:34:49 +0000 UTCOasis are the Jeremy Clarkson of British music. You either love them or loathe them.

2025-03-08 17:34:00 +0000 UTCI love em, love Blur as well

2025-03-08 17:33:48 +0000 UTCIt's nice to see i'm not the only one, i did enjoy a few of their tunes but i have heard better cover versions in a pub, seen them a long time ago before they made it and thought even then they were a pair of pretentious pricks and my opinion hasn't changed.

2025-03-08 17:31:36 +0000 UTCYeah, though while I wouldn't vote to hear the song. It might actually be quite new to them.

2025-03-08 17:30:19 +0000 UTCI went with the herd on this one as I think that particular Oasis song ain’t that bad. - Not an Oasis fan PS I now associate the song with a response the next day to a particular horrific incident in 2017 that happened in Manchester.

2025-03-08 17:29:31 +0000 UTCI agree

2025-03-08 17:22:51 +0000 UTCI had a cat called Sally. It definitely wasn’t about her.

2025-03-08 17:22:30 +0000 UTCWonder if it's the same Strap-on Sally from Love is the Law by The Seahorses

2025-03-08 17:16:51 +0000 UTCThis is a tough one. They wouldn’t get my vote in a million years but I don’t think any amount of tactical voting will stop Oasis. 🥶

2025-03-08 17:15:26 +0000 UTCI grew up in the 90's lol ..I was a Radiohead and Blur fan. Oasis were just a bunch of bullies and tossers to me.

2025-03-08 17:15:05 +0000 UTCA real quality line up about to get a drubbing from Oasis I feel!

2025-03-08 17:10:49 +0000 UTCI pray for Sally Cinnamon. ironically, she was the Sally mentioned in Don’t Look Back In Anger, according to Oasis’s Liam Gallagher. Maybe break from tradition and do a battle of the tunes if one of them wins. Stone Roses are the Mancunian legends who topped the Mojo UK top 10 bands who never made it in the USA, and Oasis pretty much stole a lot of their act.
Thomas
2025-03-08 17:10:48 +0000 UTCA Beatles tribute act. Think it’s a generational thing, most people voting will have grown up in the 90’s. I’d be stunned if they hadn’t already heard that track too, especially the intro since it’s John Lennon’s imagine 😂

2025-03-08 17:10:21 +0000 UTCAlmost as good as Elston Gunn
