What I love most about this track is how they’ve used the old David Bowie trick of her recording the lyrics twice and singing it in slightly different tones and then overlaying them together. It’s like when you hear siblings singing and the harmonies just sound so good because their vocal cords are made up of the same genes. When you do it with a single person’s vocals like this it is absolutely haunting. Beautiful track.

2025-03-08 18:50:41 +0000 UTCI've had a mad month with this song burned in my head, I listened to it before my dad passed and it was with me playing in my head throughout the 3 days it took to travel and carry him off, the irish side came over so the connection was there i guess, even though it wasn't played at his service, it was like the unofficial soundtrack i carried, a song ruined forever, like the best funeral songs heh. It feels full-circle now, no sympathies please.
