A/N: Well now, Axel is a Knight, that’s lovely. But more than that, he had to reveal his… ‘true nature’. Dun dun duuuun~

You're a good man, Jon Arryn...and like his father before him, Axel has a steadfast King's Hand to support and guide him. Now you just need to do your best to defend and promote Axel as the worthy successor to his father long enough for him to win over enough of the Lords Paramount so that he has limited issues with his rule from outside his own family 😉

2025-06-05 07:18:26 +0000 UTCThis is interesting but a potentially problem, either for Axel or the Faith of the Seven. These are old gods and not the seven. The faith of the seven would basically be duty bound to get rid of him. However this opens up the possibility of either a return to the old gods or the faith of the seven can claim that those gods were in fact the mother and father (Ala Christianity claiming that norse gods were just the guise used by god and his angels during their convertion of Norway and the scandi countries). This leads to other potential issues seeing as there are still quite a few old god worshippers left (mostly in the north). Marrying Sansa or Arya (Arya would probably be a better fit for Axel) would get him the North and the Riverlands whatever the faith says (having their blood on the throne will be more important to hoster and Edmure I think and the North would probably align with him religiously as well). The Vale actually seems to love Axel I think so they would happily support him. With Renly's actions he can be striped of his title and Stannis can be made Lord paramount of the stormlands. This effectively brings 4 kingdoms to Axels side (not counting other marriages that may happen due to people wanting godsblood in their lines.) This is a perfect setup for a resurgence of the old god faith 😅 Personally I'd like to see the faith of the seven take a hit. It is bloated and corrupt and too easily co-opted. It's hold has weakened as well, Rhyllor the fire god found fertile ground in westeros especially when Melissandre 'proved his power. Axel could probably do the same. I would honestly be surprised if jon doesn't start an investigation into the Baratheon line to find out how Axel can do what he does (the mother wouldn't even cross his mind)

2025-06-05 06:24:15 +0000 UTCPeople of Westeros will have a perfect excuse for Axel's strength. After all his ancestors are literally gods: https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Durran_II_Durrandon

2025-06-04 22:48:04 +0000 UTCIt's gonna be fun having those Baratheon knights get back to King's Landing long enough to spread crazy rumors and then have Axel immediately show up and prove the rumors accurate.
