2025-02-16 20:09:01 +0000 UTCOn the pound dollar thing. Yeah a fiver is 5 pounds, a tenner 10 etc. But the USD hasn't improved as such, certainly not worse. But really since the 60s the GBP (Great British Pound) has tanked. Even 15 years ago Β£1 was $2. But we also paid more here. So I could fly from London to NYC, buy the latest and greatest Toshiba laptop (a Qosmio), send back the empty boxes, fly back AND change the keyboard to a UK one from eBay - for bang on the same money you'd pay in the US for just the laptop in USD. Having a strong currency is actually very bad at times. Look at our housing crises in the 90s. It's part of the reason the UK hasn't been targeted with Trump's tariffs. We're actually a good 'goods' partner, we both buy and sell the same from each other. (We the UK are in a surplus for services but they're a bit different). As Jess said, don't want to get too political but yeah. The UK is in a very different place compared to the EU or Canada or Mexico.

2025-02-15 23:03:53 +0000 UTCIf they are shooting with long lenses and the light is low, then the Depth of Field could be very small, so he'd have to hit predefined marks. I used to work as a clapper-loader/focus-puller, which involved setting marks for all the actors, and can remember DOF getting so low I once announced loudly "Hey, I only have 4 inches here!", causing the entire crew and cast to break down into uncontrollable fits of laughter for the next few minutes.
