Thank You for Your Support! Comedy Poll & Upcoming Plans

Hey everyone,

We just want to take a moment to say thank you for all the love, understanding, and support you’ve shown us during this difficult time. It truly means the world to us. We appreciate everyone who reached out with support and to those who shared their own difficult stories. We’re still very sorry for missing a few reactions this week, but your kindness has made it a little easier to navigate everything.

We’ll be leaving on February 13th and returning on February 16th for the funeral. Until then, we’re working hard to get as much recorded as possible so we can keep things moving.

In the meantime, here’s the first of many polls we’ll be posting this weekend! We missed the timing for the Music poll, so we selected at random, and U2 - October / New Year's Day (Live From Red Rocks, 1983) is what won.

Now, it’s time to vote for Monday’s comedy reaction! If you copy and paste the poll options into YouTube search, the videos should pop right up if you want to watch any of them before you vote.

Thanks again for being here for us. We appreciate you all more than we can say. 💚💜

– Mike & Jess

Hey guys I hope your heart is healing from your recent lose. With deepest sympathies and big hugs from London UK 🇬🇧 I would really love it if you reacted to another PAOLO NUTINI song. “No Other Way” live Leon Loft https://youtu.be/xdZlUtE699c?si=RT-oFVuKw5FrT6dA This is 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏼

Please don't include me in your 'pre-teen squabbling', Demceez. Have you read my response? Some guy following me around Patreon is an attempt at bullying. Please let sleeping dogs lie.

Eddy

yeah like some pre-teens squabbling. Very ridiculous

Demceez

Thank you Rob G,100% correct and I will take that onboard

Duncan

There is no feud from my standpoint - just some random guy who has taken a dislike to me for no reason I can ascertain - but I could not agree more, Rob, regarding the timing.

Eddy

No idea what this feud is about but all I can see is poison and it’s not needed especially at this time.

Rob G

They don't have that but the whole film of 'And now for something completely different' is on YouTube for free so I've added that to the list!

In case you decide to delete your post after reading my reply, I will copy it here, since I have had to read it: "I have to state that I am a little disappointed in patreon Eddy,he is a man who has proven to be very very active in the comments, posting between 100-200 comments,on average, per post. Yet when it came to Mike & Jess's recent post and news,he was visibly absent, not even posting a single line or even emolij to show a little bit of support or compassion, perhaps revealing his true character. Now here he is right back to posting angrily and negatively when the polls are not going his way. Very disappointed Eddy." Please stop with the ad hominem attacks against me, Duncan. This is not the first, although it is the first very open one. To earlier, perfectly pleasant posts by me, you wrote: “ I see Eddy is fresh to patreon, only joining in July of 2024,he will soon calm down with his ideas and requests, once he realizes that it could very easily take 4 or 5 years for a show he likes,to even win a poll on these channels and get a reaction of it”. I responded with: “"I will certainly have very little time to post once I am well enough to work again, after 6 years of serious illness and the last 2 years unable to earn a living, but thanks for your not-the-least-patronising consideration for my welfare 😉.” You are apparently oblivious to my problems, so let me repeat that I am and have been very ill and in considerable pain. You know nothing about me or the sacrifices I have made in trying to help family, friends and strangers, so it is a little upsetting to be told that a failure to express sympathy for Mike and Jess reveals my true character. In fact, I lost both my parents recently and have lost a number of close friends to suicide, murder and untimely death over the years, so it is a painful subject for me. I should not have to reveal it here, but I have sent Mike and Jess both a significant present and a condolence card, rather than making a comment on Patreon. I considered that against my own experiences of grief and decided that I would prefer to receive something that took significant time and care from a stranger than a few quickly spoken words, so felt a more meaningful way of expressing my sympathies. I do not feel the need to make public demonstrations to prove I feel very deeply for them and I am most certainly concerned that - at a terrible time for them - they might now feel the need to intervene to stop hostilities between Patreons. Please consider the latter before making further snide comments. The tone of my post about the latest poll was amused, not angry, which the tongue sticking out emoji was meant to make plain for all to understand. I have not posted 100-200 comments per post as you state! Because of my illness, it is very hard and painful for me to type at all. Treat that with incredulity if you like, but Mike and Jess know what I’m going through. Frankly, I feel that anyone voting for your attacks on me, as previously, should be ashamed of themselves. I would prefer to remain private about my own problems, though, so please show a little decency and leave me alone.

Eddy

No apologies required both, take your time. What I will say though is that when you start to watch some comedy it will help with your mood and take your mind off things for a while. My Mum recently passed away and I have found watching some classic comedy and listening to my favourite music is certainly helping me. Take care.

PS I've changed my vote to Monty Python in support. I was wondering if Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl is available on YouTube? I absolutely loved that show and it would be great for Mike and Jess to see just how loved Python was in the States once upon a time.

Eddy

de Tocqueville's "Tyranny of the Majority" comes to mind. I guess people are just sticking with what feels comfortable and safe for them in this case. I comfort myself with the thought that there is only so much Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington content available to react to, so maybe I'll just come back in a year or so, when it and everyone involved is exhausted! 😋

Eddy

I've lost friends over the years, but one person stands out, he passed away at 19, over 20 years ago, and I still think of him often. They say we die twice: once physically and again when our name is spoken for the last time. Remembering and talking about him brings me comfort, knowing that in doing so, I’m keeping his memory alive.

Wow....U2 at Red Rocks! That's the first U2 Album I bought after they played Live Aid. I had heard of them but was never really into them until then. Great choice.

Take some time to come to terms with your loss. Come back to this when you're ready. We will all be waiting for you. Meanwhile....talk about impossible task....Lee Evans and Peter kay in the same poll😐. Impossible choice!!! Both!!!! 👍😁

AngieG

No need to apologise for anything at all. Take care both of you 🙂

Rob G

Lovely to see you keeping your spirits up. Take as long as you need. You have all our support ❤️ 💙

I'm delighted to see an update, and while it's not needed, the transparency is very refreshing. Safe travels for your trip when it comes. I see we have a lot of Karl Pilkington fans, but I'm gonna keep voting for Monty Python when it comes up :) I so badly want them to see some of it to see John Cleese in his original element.
