August is over!

Whew! I moved. We're still unpacking. I hurt my back really badly a couple of weeks ago carrying heavy boxes, but I'm finally starting to feel better. I just FINALLY got my computer set up at the new place on Sunday and got the internet transferred over (which was a much more involved and annoying process than I expected actually). Still a lot of "settling in" to do.

Anyway, I've been getting over that injury and I've been exhausted and haven't felt particularly sexy, so the wallpapers for this month are not especially sexy (but at least there are extra ones). I'm still developing that exo-botanist character, who works at a remote research station on an uninhabited alien planet with lots of exo-flora and exo-fauna. I just NEEDED to have an anxious, excitable nerd with glasses. I can't do a sci-fi thing without a nerdy scientist character!

The main image shows the Nabri ambassador, a noble Nabri whose name I can't find in my notes, along with her entourage of common Nabri (a little like "drones"). They are a biologically stratified society. They are sorted by height. The PINK GALAXY's navigator Dexy is a human hybrid genetically engineered to work with humans - her genetic "stock" is common Nabri, but her human genes make her a much more independent thinker, like a noble Nabri... which according to her society she is not. So she doesn't exactly fit in among her own people. But maybe being a misfit makes her better suited to a life of adventure!

That's all for now. I'm so glad the move is over. I'm looking forward to getting settled in and getting back up to speed! ^_^
