"Girls! Girls! Girls! You're supposed to be learning about chemistry!"
"We are, Mrs. G."
I don't know why I did this. I was thinking about The Facts of Life yesterday (the '80s sitcom), and I ended up watching a very good episode on YouTube called "Double Standard"... and people on the internet sure were right about the pseudo-sexual-tension between Jo and Blair!
When I was little, I hated Blair because I didn't see past her being a snooty rich girl, but she was deeper than that, and also had a lot more funny lines than I would have thought. And Jo was just so totally a lesbian (okay, she dated guys on the show, but c'mon. Even as a clueless kid I thought "That just doesn't seem right, her going out with boys"). Nancy McKeon might not be a lesbian in real life, but she was definitely playing one on TV. I think she caused more than a few "awakenings" for young girls in the '80s.
And apparently people have been 'shipping these two since then. This is definitely not the only Jo/Blair fan-art out there.
Oh yeah, I was also thinking about (and watching some really funny clips of) The Golden Girls, another absolute classic sitcom! But... I don't think I'm going to do any sexy fan-art from that one. ^_^'''
