Apparently I can post from my phone. I thought I had some previously unseen 3D art on here, but I couldn't find it, so here's a mini I painted for Eclipse Phase a while back.

"But why are you posting from your phone, Galaxy?" I hear you ask.

Because my [expletives deleted... many, many expletives deleted] computer is not working.

A problem I've found with troubleshooting Windows 10 (which I've had to do many times in the past several months) is that it has fewer different "symptoms" for many different problems. So a billion people will post nearly identical symptoms to the internet, each of which is given about twenty million different diagnoses, and there's no way to search for my problem without returning every one of those results, and getting the common "solutions" that invariably don't work for me, nineteen million times. So it becomes a matter of poring over a billion Google results and trying every "solution" to everything even vaguely related to my problem... Alternating with periods of curling up in a ball and crying in frustration, and stomping around cursing until my neighbors think (or confirm) I'm crazy.

Sometimes the solution that ends up working for me is 23 pages into some obscure gaming or custom cpu forum, not like, on Tom's Hardware or something. [expletives deleted... expletives for DAYS]

The only reason I switched from Windows 7 which I *never* had serious problems with, was because it couldn't address as much RAM... So I decided to try Windows 10. It's been a cavalcade of disasters ever since.

I'm not sure when or how I'll sort this out, but if you find out later that I jumped off a cliff screaming curses with a computer in my arms, you'll know why.

Sorry! I'll get back with a better post as soon as I can. >_<

I'm up and running again now, but not without several pesky errors I don't know how to fix. It was PAINFUL to not have my computer running at all though. >_<

Gadzooks!! Continuing problems with WIN10??? Shocking.............

More than Windows 7 Home allowed, anyway. :(

It's too bad our gaming group kinda fell apart. I could use the distraction. I should be up and running early next week (I'd spend the weekend on it, but we're already late to drive up for the weekend to visit my mom for Mother's Day). Here's a good question. Why wouldn't a UEFI BIOS let you access boot modes like Safe Mode with a Networking? It's stupid to not be able to from the BIOS. >_<

I don't know if I fear change, but I both rue and lament it. >_<

I've had more problems with it than any previous upgrades, but changing over is always a pain. I dream of getting a new computer someday where everything just *works*... I don't know if that's a realistic dream though. >_<

I think the big problem for me was updating from an existing OS, and installing new hardware around the same time. If I had it to do over, I would have stuck with 7 and upgraded to the Pro edition.

I actually checked it up. Windows 7 can only address up to 128GB ram if you use the Professional version. I do have Windows 7 Professional, but I am not an graphic designer, so my 16GB RAM I have almost go unused (unless I play Dark Souls 3, then it does complain about lack of memory). Windows 10 Home has the same limit at 128GB RAM as Windows 7 Professional, but all other versions of Windows 10 can address up to 2TB

Wait, How much ram do you need? :P

I will switch to 10 when I truly have no other choice. Until then I am fine with 7. I spent too long getting this computer running how I like it to let Microsoft "improve" it.

That's a nice little figure there. You must have some cool looking setups for gaming if the other figures look like that. Hope the computer starts behaving soon. Feel free to ask questions of myself and your other fans. I am thinking someone will have the knowledge to help. After all, your work attracts highly intelligent and wonderful people.

We fear change...............................................

I'm a W10 hater. Can't do half the things I could with W98SP.

As long as you have a 64 bit OS, you can adress as much RAM on W7 as on W10 :) but yea, I know what you mean. Those kinds of problems are the worst. Hope you get it worked out! Know, that there are plenty here, myself included would gladly (try) to help!

We will know what happened when we encounter the headline in the news: "Windows developer meets sticky end! Witnesses claim saw silver-haired figure with pointy ears near crime scene." More seriously, condolences - had only minor troubles with Win10 so far (After all, not doing anything special with it, in contrast to very special you :) but even those were already similarly aggravating: vague symptoms with multiple, ever more complicated solutions on offer. Feel free to vent expletives & frustration here to sympathetic ears whenever necessary.

I got a new laptop recently with windows 10 so I'm still getting use to it. So far at least I have not had any major problems but it's only been one day since I got it. My main computer is still using windows 7 because of the reasons you mentioned. With any new OS there are, shall we say, "hiccups" I have a cloned back up of my computer hard drive so in the event I do eventually upgrade my main computer to windows 10 and I have some major problems I can simply switch my hard drives and go back to windows 7. At this point though I figure if it ain't broke don't fix it. Annnnnd I'm lazy. Mainly lazy. :p
