Despite the fact that I won't be working with this subject for a long time, I think this is one of the best wallpaper images I've done. It works as a solo image, even without context - maybe it's better not to know the characters personally, like you do with my other stuff.
Oh! I almost forgot, this is actually my wallpaper on my computer. I made it a while ago, an extra wide version to use as my two-monitor wallpaper, but this version is the cleaned up single-monitor version.

I think a whip like this one is supposed to hurt a bit the next day. BDSM leaves you with lots of souvenirs of the fun times (bruises, welts, sore spots, bite marks, etc.) ^_^'

I guess the lack of focus is symbolic of the background figure's anonymity and submissiveness (in support of the whole mask and nudity aspect). The figure in the foreground has identity and power (also conveyed by her being placed visually higher in the frame). At least, if I continued with the scene, she would have a pretty distinct identity - I don't know how much identity is conveyed by her clearly specific choices in lingerie and manicure. The guy fades into the background, at almost the same amount of focus as a piece of furniture, an object, indicating how the focal figure sees him, or intends to treat him - which is okay, because he's clearly a willing participant in his objectification - judging by his body language. Which is sometimes part of the fun of the BDSM stuff, after all. ^_^
