Lex’s plan worked. It didn’t take long for Superman to return. He knew exactly what had happened and who had done it -- or at least he thought he did. He flew down to the rooftop where Lex was standing.
“Is everything okay, Kara?” He spoke with concern, “I saw what happened. What you did...”
Lex had trouble getting his words out through his laughter, “You have no idea, do you? You are such a dolt, so naive, and so trusting.”
Superman’s eyes became glowing red. “You aren’t Kara, are you? What did you do to her?”
“What are you going to do? Punch me? Shoot me? I’m just as invulnerable as you are right now. And even if you could hurt me in the slightest, would you really do that to your cousin’s body?”
“Where is she?”
“She’s safe. At LuthorCorp.”
Now Superman knew exactly who he was talking to. His eyes grew redder, but he knew Lex was right; there was nothing he could do.
“But the situation isn’t hopeless for her. In fact, it’s a pretty simple process for her to get her body back. You see, as much as I have enjoyed my time as a female Kryptonian, your body is the one that I want. So here’s what we’ll do. We’ll go back to LuthorCorp and use my machine. My brain will be in your body, and you’ll be in this body. Once you are, I won’t stop you from using it again to swap with your deal precious Kara. She’ll be back in her own body. Of course, you’ll be stuck in mine.”
