As the days turned to weeks and the weeks into months, they settled into their new bodies and their new lives. They didn’t see each other as much, but it wasn’t common for one to stop by the other’s desk from time to time.
On one Wednesday, Jennifer popped in to see Nathan. There was a certain look in her eye. He thought she was going to admonish him for wearing jeans and sneakers. Criticism about how he was dressing her body was common; she often explained how short skirts and heels made her frame look taller. But he realized this look was much different this time.
It was with a sigh that Jennifer explained she got a new job with much higher pay. Nathan reeled as he realized he was no longer going to see his body around that much. He was taken even more aback by what Jennifer suggested next. They should continue to see each other -- by going to restaurants or the movies after work. Nathan realized what was happened. She was asking him out! Would dating his own body be weird? But a second thought soon crept in, and he blushed. No, it was perfect. Maybe swapping bodies with Jennifer had been a sign; they were just right for each other.
