Jackson’s rational mind was telling him to panic. He suddenly found himself sitting on the street in a bad neighborhood, there was used needles surrounding him, and the most terrifying part was that he was in someone else’s body -- the body of a woman!
However, his rational mind felt like it should take a backseat to the waves of euphoria he was feeling at the same time. Everything felt so good, and he began to see colors swirl around him. The euphoria was short-lived, as he soon began to crash. It was all coming into focus; he had somehow swapped bodies with a junkie. He could feel his body craving more, and he thought about checking the needles left on the street in order to get another fix.
Luckily, this time his rational mind won out. He needed to get this body clean. He needed to figure out how this all happened. Due to this body’s circumstances, it took him a while to learn about the Great Shift, but the fact that he wasn’t the only one swapped meant there were programs to help people in his situation.
While he hated the fact that his new body struggled with addiction, that initial high he felt was he initially swapped into this body had subconsciously allowed him to associate his new body with a feeling of joy and pleasure. As long as he could stay clean, he knew he would be alright.
