Third Person P.O.V.

Sun Jiao guides her employer to the clinic, making a complete beeline even though Hector’s eyes wander around everywhere.

Again, with a child-like curiosity, he asks about everything. About the shops, the cybernetic enhancements of the people walking around them, weapons…

Finally, they arrive at the clinic, it’s empty because the vaccines are expensive, and Hector continues with the questions.

“What are the side effects?”, “Can I buy the vaccines but not apply here?”, “How many types exist?”, “How strong can it make a person?” and he goes on and on.

The attendant would be annoyed if he was not a client with full pockets.

“Sorry, but I can’t allow you to take the vaccines away. The application needs to be made here.” The woman wearing a nurse outfit and with cybernetic eyes answers while injecting Hector with the requested vaccines.

“Really? No exception? Not even if I pay a lot?” He asks

“If you buy entire batches you can do that… But we don’t sell batches on this specific clinic.” The nurse says.

Hector takes the vaccines that will protect him from the diseases of this post-apocalyptic world and he even took some enhancement ones. Obviously, they are useless to him, but he experimented all the same.

Sun Jiao and the nurse found it strange seeing him close his eyes while taking the shots, it is weird seeing a man like that afraid of needles.

But he is not afraid… The Hercules Method is all about Mind Over Matter, the mind in control of the body, even in the minute details. Hector was paying close attention to the changes happening in his body.

He is even helping with the process… Allowing his body to be more receptive to the foreign substances. The vaccines that would take days to have a full effect, will now complete their work in some hours.

But in the end, there’s not a big of a boost, with the exception of some increase in his bones' durability. 

He was already very much above those low-level enhancements. But the vaccines do something that the Hercules Method doesn’t do… It improved his DNA.

Now Hector is naturally better than a normal person, and it will pass to his descendants. It will also be a good excuse in case someone checks his DNA, but instead of finding some great secret, it will only find that he is naturally a little better.

It was also a test of the future serums and other enhancements that he pretends to take in the future.

But is only that… It’s almost a miss, but is better to have than not have. Even if just a little, there’s an improvement.

“Fine. Prepare them, go on Sun Jiao.” Hector's expression didn’t change.

“...” Sun Jiao's eyes remain wide “Are you for real?”

He finally sighs “Just sit on the damn chair…”

The surprise of both Sun Jiao and the nurse is understandable… 600 crystals… 600. This is a fortune enough so that you can spend years in luxury.

To put things in perspective, even a Unit of Energy Crystal is enough to rent a room for the night. One UNIT. A crystal has a 100 units.

Earlier, Hector and Sun Jiao watched some slaves being sold… Even an entire batch of women was sold for 40 Crystals. Human lives are cheaper than those High-Grande Enhancements. In truth, human lives are cheaper than even the low-grade ones.

It’s a testament of Sun Jiao's ability that she was able to accumulate enough wealth to buy her some enhancements. But never in her life, she would expect to be able to buy the high-grade ones.

This one is reserved for tycoons and incredibly rich people, and maybe their bodyguards.

Not only that, Hector’s total wealth at the moment is of a 1000 crystals, an astronomical amount, but he is about to spend 60% of his money with her. This adds another weight to his action.

He didn’t even spend this much on himself. His vaccines are only 75 crystals in total.

The treatment that Sun Jiao is receiving is simply too good!

“Just go for it, I’m curious to see how strong you can get.” He states simply.

And is simple like that.

He is just curious to see how strong she will be.

That’s Hector. Things that people would value greatly can be used easily by him. It’s just money… He got it so easily, so he can throw away it easily too, and he will get more eventually.

“...” Sun Jiao sits on the chair almost shell-shocked, the whole thing is surreal.

The event is so big that the nurse is not the one to apply the shots in Sun Jiao, she went to call a supervisor, who with great tact made Hector pay upfront. After that, he was treated like a king.

He even got a recommendation card to an even better clinic.

‘Maybe with this, I will be able to buy and take them away…’ He thinks. Money really is a strong force in the world.

But it needs to be used. Hector wants the serums and vaccines to study them, maybe use them in the future as a bargaining chip or even to subordinates in other worlds.

The attitude of the nurses is even better now, and they even answered some questions about the manufacturing of the vaccines.

I leave the clinic with a bad taste in my mouth because of a certain discovery… The vaccines are mostly produced using certain monster mutants as materials. Too bad…

But I think is only a way to cheapen the process… I think is possible to produce the materials in-

“Is really okay to spend so much on me?” Sun Jiao interrupts my thoughts, looking at me with complicated eyes.

“Again?” Seriously, this post-apocalyptic world really treats people badly. I don’t care about the crystals, I still have more than enough to buy so many things. Genetic enhancements are a luxury even here, even a car is like 5 crystals.

“Yes, again… I think you don’t have a notion of how much you spent. You will regret it later.” Sun Jiao says strongly

I give her a look and chuckle “Look at you… A conscience. That’s why I hired you.” Is she blushing? “And don’t worry, I will not regret it. I don’t think you will get stronger than me even with those High-Grade enhancements.“ I refuse to believe that they can make a Spider-Man here.

“I will not betray you!” She says outraged.

“I believe you.” I answer immediately.

“~~~~ Grr!” For some reason she glares at me before looking away, giving up on arguing.

“You saw how easily I can make money. Let’s spend the rest and go back to the Mansion.” I comment. As an Omniversal Traveller, currency to me is worth very little “Tell me, where we should go now?”

“Depends on what you want?” She says while looking ahead “The bazaar is a good option to buy general things, but there are specialized shops that are better options and more reliable. Taking into consideration that money is not a problem, paying a little more is no problem, right?”

“Now you are getting it.” I joke “Let’s buy some weapons first. I trust that you know a little about the subject…” I give her a provocative look.

On her end, she shoots back a predatory grin “You can be sure of that!”

After that, she guides me to a weapons shop that she is familiar with. It really looks like a gun shop that I would find anywhere in a normal world, except that the stuff selling is very different. Very, very different…

But they are still guns, high-tech guns, but still guns…

“So… What about gloves that shoot lasers? Power armors? Jetpacks? Hardlight swords?” I ask half-joking

“You can buy those things in the inner city or in another Survival Camp.” Sun Jiao answers like is no big deal.

“...” I try to not let my surprise show, I was half-kidding… “So in the future you will take me there.” 

“I can do that, but some places are very fancy, it’s not just anyone that can buy certain things.” 

“Not even with a lot of money?”

“Not only money, you would need to have some contacts.” She reveals.

“Tsk… It’s problematic.”

I can understand the principle. Basically, you would need to be a known big shot to have access to those things, it’s not only about money. This is awkward… I don’t want to attract attention, but I want everything this advanced world has to offer.

I will need to spend a lot of money, and attract attention… Positive and negative attention. Ugh, dealing with humans…

But first, let’s get a little more comfortable in this world…

“Buy what you can carry… I also want some lessons from you.” I can use some guns, but I’m not a trained soldier.

“You’re the boss!” Her eyes shine and she goes to buy some rifles, pistols, grenades… She is acting like a kid in a candy store.

And here I thought women like handbags and shoes… This one here likes weapons that turn people into pink mist.

We found the place with the best rooms and service to stay the night. The most well-protected too. Money is not an issue, but even I need to sleep… Very little but I still sleep every day.

The thing is that staying alert 24/7 is exhausting. I will not lower my guard completely, but being in a place surrounded by four walls is already something that improves your night's sleep.

“I didn’t see you complaining when you took the sniper rifle and the grenade launcher.” I tease

She has the decency of looking ashamed, spending money that is not hers seems new. For some reason, she thinks that she is taking advantage of me.

“Hmpf! You said to buy one of each as a sample.”

Yes, I did. We even brought different types of grenades to test. “Do you think we still have money for a vehicle?” I ask. The money dwindled fast. Again, it’s not an issue, but I want to know if I should exchange an extra can of food.

“Absolutely.” She answers “Even a tank, or an aircraft.”

“A semi-truck is enough… Tomorrow we will buy it and some home appliances. You do that while I go buy a slave.” 

She gives me a strange glance “Are you really gonna buy a slave? Pervert…”

I roll my eyes “I want someone who knows technology and can teach me.” 

In truth, I’m going for someone even more specific. The character that the original MC buys in the Canon. As I said, those Main Characters sure are lucky… Beautiful and competent girls just waiting for him to notice them.

And most importantly, loyal.

The tech savant that I am gonna search for tomorrow is the main reason why I came to the Sixth Street.

“Just that?” She still looks at me suspiciously

“That’s the plan, but who knows… Maybe I will buy one or two for sexual relief.” I shrug, if I’m gonna be treated like a perver anyway, why not? And they are so cheap… Being a Traveler really messes with your morals and views of the world.

I like freedom. It’s one of my main principles, but I will not come to a new world and impose my beliefs. Can you imagine how exhausting that it will be?

I’m gonna adapt.

Yes, different from the hypocrites average Japanese MCs - that say that they hate slavery and even so buy slaves using some ludicrous reasons -, I’m gonna make full use of slavery. It’s so convenient… 

And it’s not like I will mistreat them. Heck, they will have a better life with me… And eventually, I will go away and they will be free. Win-Win.

I even have a list of easy girls to recruit around the Omniverse, and a bunch of them are slaves. I just need to help them from their bad situation before the MCs and BAM… They are mine.

So easy~ I’m all for using the exploits of Omniversal Travel coupled with Meta-Knowledge. When I will be able, hopefully, to bring people with me in my Jumps, I will start recruiting those “easy” characters.

“Do you even need them for sexual relief with me here?”

“Well, I don’t need anythi- Wait a second… What did you just say?” I slowly take my eyes off my little book to look at her.

“C’mon, don’t act like you didn’t think about that… I saw the glances that you stole on my boobs and ass. Props for you for being quick, by the way.” She gives me a wide smile

“I will not deny that you are attractive, but I hope to keep things professional between us…” I say in a calm voice. I think I imagined that something like this would happen eventually. 

“Why? A little pleasure can make any business more enjoyable.” She gives me a hungry look, sitting at my side.

“Too soon?” The tone of confusion in her voice is like she thinks is inconceivable that someone would reject her…

And no, it’s not because she is one of those girls that can’t imagine being rejected. Yes, she is aware of her appeal and all that, but her tone is more like it’s common sense to have those flings.

“Yes, too soon… I don’t know how open to sexuality this world is, but I guess it’s a lot.” I say remembering the half-naked girls being sold and the high mortality rate “I guess when life is hard we live every moment to the fullest… But I’m not in the mental space to have those casual things yet. And the fact that you advanced, little to no choice… upset me a little.” I say

“... I’m sorry? I guess…” She looks genuinely apologetic, despite being confused.

I sigh loudly and sit on the chair where she was previously sitting.

“Relax, it’s more of a me thing…”

There are some issues with having a one nightstand.

First, I need to be careful about not having children. What if they inherit my Traveller powers?

Two, because I can’t bring people with me yet, I don’t want to get attached… Well, this one is kinda of a weak excuse. I don’t think I would get attached that easily. I guess it’s more of a possessive thing… 

Three, I’m still a virgin and I kinda wanted my first time to be with a… better character? It’s horrible to say that to Sun Jiao, but I guess it is how I imagined things would go. 

My first girl would become my main girl, or at least someone really important to me… She needs to be one of my favorite waifus too… Someone like Yoruichi, Hinata, Robin…

But this creates a problem, if she is one of my favorite waifus, I would not want to leave her behind, so I need the power to take her with me.

But this is not possible in the foreseeable future.

And the worlds of my favorite waifus are very far on the list…

Should I really wait for that long? Without even tasting one of the main appeals of the Omniverse… women.

I think I can wait… But wouldn’t this hold me back a little? I want to enjoy my travels after all. It’s not only about training. I don’t have enemies unless I desire. 

I’m free to do whatever I want. Why I am reluctant now? Why I am stopping myself from enjoying myself?

“You know…” I say to Sun Jiao “In the past, I was kinda pervert.” 

“Hard to believe.” She scoffs, unhappy.

I smile. Yep, from what she knows, I’m probably gay or a monk.

“It’s true. I always wanted to travel, promising myself if I had the opportunity I would enjoy it to the fullest, especially with beautiful women.” I laugh “But now that I’m here and have it in my hands… I’m kinda… not that horny anymore.”

“...”

“I think Schopenhauer wrote about that… ‘Life is a constant oscillation between the desire to have and the boredom of possessing’. It’s like being so eager to have a new gaming PC or a pool, and kinda leave it aside when you have it. Or when you are so anxious for your delivery to arrive. More expectant of the arrival than the product per se…”

“I did not understand half of the words you spoke…” She deadpans, making me laugh lightly

“It’s just that I’m not that interested in sex now that I have it at arms’s reach. Not to say that I’m not interested completely, but I guess I overvalued it before when I didn’t have it… get it?” I try to explain “I’m not governed by those base desires.”

I’m no celibate monk. I still love and I’m very interested in the female form and in my many-now real- waifus. But I think I transcended a little…

“Said that, I’m not saying that I’m not attracted to you and maybe in some months I will  try to get in your panties.” I joke, smirking while circling her and going to bed.

Maybe this disinterest in that is a part of my growth so that I don’t fall into a degenerate pointless life.

I laugh to myself while thinking that maybe I didn’t reach the Omniversal Traveller Puberty.

“Why are you laughing??” She frowns, sounding angry

“Nothing, hehe~” I chuckle again “Despite thinking that is better to not have sex for now, what did you say about cuddling?” I ask lying on the bed

“Cuddling?” She pauses

“Yeah, I’m an enjoyer of new things… I never cuddled before.”

“ ‘Enjoyer of new things’, but not sex…” She rolls her eyes

“There’s an order that you take to make things more enjoyable, my dear. Like leaving the best food for last… I’m maximizing my enjoyment by savoring my life slowly.” I say with a joking tone, but I really believe it.

If I do hardcore stuff now, maybe it will banalize other simple things that I still haven’t enjoyed.

That’s why I’m also progressing accordingly in my jumps. There are ways to become OP fast, but then when I go to weaker–but fun– worlds the fun would be gone.

“I think that you overcomplicate things…” She huffs again

“And I think you are right.” I chuckle “But my biggest opponent is myself, and I wouldn’t be a good opponent if I made my life easy, right?”

“What?” She tilts her head

“Nothing, my mind is strange… Are you coming or not?” I raise the covers to hers.

“...” After a lot of hesitation and an intense look in my direction, she finally agreed “Fine…” She rolls her eyes and approaches.

She enters beneath the covers and turns her back to me. I’m okay with being the big spoon.

Hugging her from behind, we enter a comfortable state, our bodies fitting together very well. She is soft and smells good because of the recent bath. She is warm too… Hm? Is her ear red? Is that why she turns her back to me? It’s because she is embarrassed… Weird woman, you are not embarrassed about sex, but is shy about cuddling?
