Chapter 1: Origins

Village Hidden In The Leaves

Naruto gazed at the ruins of his shattered world with vacant, expressionless eyes. The destruction had been brought about by his son Boruto, albeit unintentionally. But at this point, it hardly mattered. The blonde Uzumaki chose to push aside his failures and concentrate on the desolate landscape before him.

The final living person in the Elemental Nation remained unmoved as his surroundings erupted in flames. He could feel, even without tapping into sage mode, that the planet was doomed. The earth's natural energy was desperately attempting to latch onto him, like a last resort, compelling him to enter sage mode.

Naruto gazed at a home with a shattered window, seeing his reflection. His appearance had altered a bit since he chose to delve further into mastering sage techniques after being liberated from Kawaki.

"That didn't help me at all," Naruto muttered quietly to himself. As he gazed at his reflection, he noticed that while his blonde hair was longer, he hadn't had the chance to trim it. His blue eyes remained unchanged, but they lacked the warmth they once had. The most significant change, however, was the absence of his three whisker marks, a sign that he was no longer the Jinchuriki of Kurama.

After losing Kurama through the use of baryon mode and subsequently discovering that the tailed beast had been reborn within his daughter, Naruto found it difficult to accept. To make matters more complex, he realized she was more compatible with Kurama than he ever was, leaving him feeling a mix of pride and a hint of jealousy.

The Uzumaki realized he shouldn't harbor such feelings, yet it appeared that the younger generation was effortlessly granted power, while he and his peers had to earn it through immense effort and sacrifice. It simply felt unjust.

Once he was liberated, he resumed his sage training and achieved mastery over the manipulation of natural energy, granting him unprecedented powers.

Sage mode has evolved beyond merely being a power boost for him; it now holds the potential to surpass any ability in his realm that could compete with Shinjutsu, provided it is utilized effectively. This is the reason for his survival.

Shikamaru once playfully remarked that this ability made him feel as if he were a Jinchuriki of the earth, not realizing how close he was to the truth in that comment.

The planet possesses consciousness, just like every individual world in the universe, each with its own desires. While the Otsutsuki consume the life force of planets and their residents to gain power and ascend to a higher existence, the Uzumaki share a more harmonious bond with their planet. The earth willingly bestows its energy upon him, and in return, he safeguards it. Their mutual strength bolsters one another; his vast chakra reserves nourish the land, while the land provides him with natural energy. This energy not only enhances his abilities but also helps restore his chakra reserves—a skill he acquired from Kurama.

"Who could have imagined that my sage mode would actually grow more powerful after losing Kurama?" Naruto remarked with a faint laugh. The world has its own intentions, viewing Kurama and the tailed beasts derived from the ten tails as a danger, which restricts the power they can access. In contrast, the world regards him as a guardian.

Naruto gazed at the three-pointed kunai in his hand, a weapon his father had used for the Flying Thunder God technique. He had altered it with the assistance of his shadow clones while learning sealing techniques from Jiraiya during their travels. He had reached a level where he could create sealing scrolls and explosive seals independently, but he never advanced his studies further until it was too late and all his loved ones had disappeared.

"There's nothing left for me here," Naruto declared as he tossed the kunai into the air, causing the surrounding space to distort. "Here goes nothing."

The initial technique generates an alternate space that the user enters, and when they exit, they appear at the location of the kunai. Naruto realized that this had its limitations, as it was quicker than most time-space jutsus, but for the purpose of dimension hopping, the Uzumaki required a different approach.

"It seems to be effective," Naruto commented as he observed the golden lightning and the distortion of space caused by the kunai spinning in the air. This was his adaptation of the flying thunder god technique; rather than forming a sealed space, his version tears a rift in space and time, transporting both the user and the kunai from one location to another. However, this method carries much greater danger and risk.

DC Comics Universe

Naruto gazed in awe at the unfamiliar realm surrounding him, filled with astonishing sights. This place was inhabited by aliens, demons, wizards, meta-humans, deities, and a myriad of other beings.

"I can't help but question if I should have simply allowed myself to perish along with my world," Naruto mused aloud. He had created a time-space ninjutsu inspired by his father's Flying Thunder God technique to tear open a rift to this dimension. "But I made a vow to my wife that I would survive."

Naruto felt unsure about his capacity to carry on, yet he was resolute in his commitment to fully immerse himself in this strange new world. "Perhaps I should explore this realm and experience as much of it as possible," he thought.

Naruto concluded that to obtain information, he would employ his shadow clone technique. He planned to have his clones disguise themselves as various individuals to acquire the language and collect all necessary intelligence for his survival.

Metropolis

Naruto spent a week in this unfamiliar world, quickly realizing it was different from his own. When he utilized sage mode to explore, he sensed the distinctness of the inhabitants. The information gathered by his clones reinforced this understanding.

The blonde ninja was strolling down the streets of Metropolis, the city he landed in after jumping dimensions. Now, he wore a hoodie pulled over his head, along with jeans and sandals.

"Hey, lookup in the sky!" a man beside Naruto exclaimed, pointing at something flying as they strolled through the streets of Metropolis.

"Is that a bird or a plane?" a woman inquired as she observed the rapidly approaching object in the sky.

"No, it's Superman!" a young girl shouted with enthusiasm as she celebrated the hero in blue and red.

Superman was engaged in battle with a female adversary who appeared to be composed of lightning. She was unleashing electric blasts at him, but they hardly affected the invulnerable hero. Naruto observed the crowd around him; they were simply watching the clash, confident that Superman would protect them. In Naruto's view, they were naive.

Naruto reflected somberly, "Just one random strike or a falling object could spell disaster for them. But I suppose they have complete faith in Superman to protect them; it's easy to see why they view him as an all-powerful deity."

Naruto was ready to leave the situation behind. Since arriving in this unfamiliar world, he had mostly kept to himself. To support himself, he had been using shadow clones disguised with transformation jutsu to take on low-paying jobs and collect the earnings. With the money he made, he rented a small one-bedroom apartment, stocking it with food and essentials.

BOOM

Naruto glanced up to witness the female antagonist hurling a steel beam into a structure, which she then followed by demolishing several more. Superman quickly regained his composure and soared at incredible speed to rescue those trapped inside the building as debris rained down on the crowd below.

Everything unfolded in slow motion for Naruto as he watched Superman desperately attempt to rescue as many people as possible from the collapsing building. Superman flew them to safety quickly, but with a speed that ensured they wouldn't be harmed.

"Many fail to recognize that Superman isn't a deity; his abilities have boundaries. I can't help but think that if he unleashed his full speed right now, he could ensure everyone's safety. However, doing so would put those he aims to protect in danger, potentially harming them. Naruto reflected, "And as a hero, he can't simply eliminate his foes either."

Naruto watched as the building was falling people were still in them while the people on the ground were now trying to get to safety.

"Better late than never," Naruto scoffed internally. He knew he could simply turn and choose a life of tranquility and isolation, but as he observed the chaos around him—men, women, and children fleeing in fear—his heart tightened at the thought of innocent lives being lost. "I didn't have the power to protect my people; perhaps I can make a difference for the people here."

Naruto began to emit a green energy as he tapped into the essence of nature. He discovered that the natural energy in this new realm was distinct and more abundant than that of his own world, bestowing him with enhanced abilities.

In a flash, trees sprouted quickly, catching the debris and securing the collapsing structure. Superman appeared perplexed but relieved that the civilians were safe. He then shifted his focus back to the villainess, this time with a more determined demeanor, swiftly incapacitating her in mere seconds. Utilizing his speed and cleverness, he drenched her in water, effectively short-circuiting her abilities.

Daily Planet

Head Reporter's Office

"Do you believe it was Poison Ivy who helped you in rescuing those people earlier, Clark?" a woman with long black hair dressed in a shirt and skirt inquired.

"I reached out to Batman, and he verified that Ivy is currently at Arkham Asylum, so it can't be her, Lois," Clark Kent, also known as Superman, said with a puzzled expression. "It might have been Swamp Thing, but he tends to stay isolated and isn't fond of humans."

"Then who do you believe is responsible for growing all those plants?" Lois inquired as she gazed out of the Daily Planet, noticing the trees adorned with lovely pink blossoms. Some people even wished to preserve the trees rather than cut them down to fix the damaged buildings.

"I'm not sure, but I'm thankful for their assistance; without it, many could have been injured or even lost their lives," Clark replied, reflecting deeply. He understood that others looked to him to rescue everyone, but he was only one individual---albeit a strong one---yet still just one person.

"I see your point, but I understand that Bruce is acting like his typical paranoid self and is determined to uncover who this mysterious rescuer is," Lois remarked, receiving an acknowledgment from Clark. "I just hope he doesn't end up making an enemy out of this person."

"Come on in, Lois. Bruce isn't as terrible as you think," Clark said, receiving a sharp look from the stern female reporter. "Sure, he might have his flaws, but I'll intervene if he oversteps his bounds."

"If you say so, Smallville," Lois said, using the nickname she had for Clark based on his hometown, and then shifted the topic. "So, are we still on for tonight?"

"Absolutely, we are," Clark replied with a grin. The two reporters exchanged a brief kiss. "I have a surprise waiting for you at my apartment."

Lois chuckled at Clark's words, fully aware of the surprise he had in store, having experienced it herself. "I have to admit, I preferred you when you first arrived from Smallville---you were a shy, stammering sweetheart. Now, you're just a big flirt."

"What can I say, Lois, you've turned me into this," Clark said, his eyes filled with desire as he gazed at her. Lois couldn't help but feel that he was employing his x-ray vision to catch a glimpse of what she had on beneath her outfit.

"Easy there, we have work to do; we can wrap this up later at your place," Lois said as she stepped out of her office, with Clark following closely behind. The Kryptonian couldn't help but notice the way his girlfriend moved her hips, fully aware that she was putting on a show for him.

Metropolis [Naruto's Apartment]

Naruto glanced at the newspaper he was holding and sighed. It featured an article about someone rescuing people from crumbling debris. While it didn't mention him by name, the public was expressing gratitude towards that enigmatic hero who had come to the rescue.

The issue with this situation is that he would now attract the attention of both heroes and villains, all of whom would be on the lookout for him for various reasons. The Uzumaki desires nothing more than to be left in peace to live out his remaining days and eventually pass away, believing that this is what someone like him, a failure, truly deserves.

"I should have just stayed out of it and let Superman handle things; he might have been able to save the day," Naruto reflected, somewhat doubtful of his own words. Deep down, he understood that even Superman couldn't have saved everyone, which is why he took action himself. "I suppose it's true what they say: change is difficult for people."

Naruto understood that, at his core, he could never resist the urge to rescue others. Being the child of heroes, he had always seen himself as the protector of his world. Even after experiencing failure and feeling like a nobody, the instinct to help those in need remained strong within him.

"It looks like it's time for me to relocate to another city," Naruto exclaimed suddenly. He conjured up several clones to help him start packing his belongings. "Now that Superman knows there's someone with powers living in Metropolis, he'll definitely be keeping an eye out for me."

Naruto realized that evading the man of steel in his own territory would be challenging, so the most effective option was to relocate to a different city and begin anew.

"Where should I head to?" Naruto wondered, considering the different cities. "I could travel to Star City, Gotham, or perhaps Washington."

Each of those choices had their advantages and disadvantages. In Star City, he could witness the advanced science and technology of this world, but he had also been hearing about a hero known for moving faster than the eye can follow.

If he relocated to Gotham, he was uncertain how long he could endure the place, given its rampant crime. With his luck, it was likely that some fool would attempt to rob him. Plus, there's that crazed individual in a bat costume---some view him as a hero, while others see him as a monster.

Then there's Washington, where rumors have circulated about a stunning female hero; some claim she's an Amazon. Aside from that, the city appears quite ordinary, aside from the occasional battles between heroes and villains that occur more frequently.

"Regardless of where I end up, it feels like trouble is always right behind me, so I'll just let my feet guide me," Naruto thought as he grabbed a bag stuffed with scrolls holding his possessions. He stepped out of his apartment, leaving the keys behind for the landlord to collect when rent is due at the end of the month.

A/N: I aimed to create a more tragic and relatable backstory for Naruto, similar to that of Superman and Martian Manhunter. Like them, he has lost his home and must adapt to life on a new planet, which he might eventually come to regard as home. In this narrative, Naruto will embark on a journey, encountering both heroes and villains while forming connections, all while grappling with the grief of his lost world. I hope you all enjoy the story, and I look forward to working on another community project soon. Until next time, take care!
