I have a new editor

I have a new editor (at Mira). Hopefully things will now stabilize on the inside of Michelle's hyperventilating brain.

I have a dental appointment this afternoon, but it's just a normal check-up, and I hope I don't have to return for post check-up cavity work, as my emergency dental work occurred during Australian writing retreat.

I spent forty-five minutes on the phone with Subaru US yesterday. Those who know me know I don't have a driver's license, which means I don't own a car, and regardless don't live in the US, so may be wondering why I spent 45 minutes on the phone.

It's because the person who bought the car in the US erroneously used my email address as their contact email, and I have been getting email every time she plugs her car in. It was driving me nuts. But there's a 1-800 number for Subaru, so I phoned.

The helpful (he was helpful) person at the other end of the line was baffled, but could not change the email address because she didn't answer her phone. I may have been a touch cranky about the confirmation email one is supposed to be sent to confirm that the address is correct, because I, of course, didn't get one. Just... a flood of emails.

So the best he could do was go into the account and turn off all email notifications, so I don't have to see them. Which he did.

The minute I get off the phone, I get an email asking me to rate their customer service...

I realized yesterday that I botched West timeline (it's not a huge error), and had to go back and revise a bit. And reread a lot to find out where I'd made the error. It's entirely contained within the three days of the current "present" in Hunter's Redoubt, not a larger structural error, but I spent the afternoon feeling incredibly stupid.

And I have some thoughts about story structure in - yes - video games. Again. But first: real words, and then dentist.
