Important Reminder For Apple Users
Added 2024-11-03 11:17:55 +0000 UTCA reminder for anyone who forgot about the earlier announcement or never saw it, from November 1st 2024 if you buy a new Patreon membership through the IOS app (applies to iPhones and iPads) you will be charged an extra 30% that goes entirely to Apple, not to me.
If you subscribed before November 1st using Apple you weren't charged this extra 30% and you won't be charged it if you signed up for a recurring monthly plan.
However if you joined in the last couple days, join in the future, or cancelled your subscription and rejoin using the IOS app you will be charged 30% more money for the same content as everyone else. And again, this money doesn't go to me or any creator you sign up for and Patreon creators had no input in this decision, this was all decided by Apple.
If you want to be a Patreon member of mine or anyone else I would recommend joining via the desktop website or the Android app to avoid being charged this fee.
And I'll add a reminder here too for anyone who uses Twitch that if you purchase a tier 1 subscription to anyone on Twitch using the mobile app (IOS and Android) that it is charging you more money (it seems to be about $1-3 more) than if you subscribed using the desktop website. Now this extra money is still split 50/50 with creators unlike the Patreon situation, but I don't think it's fair to charge mobile users more money for a subscription that desktop users are getting for cheaper especially since again creators and streamers on Twitch had no input on this decision. So if you don't want to be charged more for your Twitch subs, I'd recommend subscribing to streamers via the desktop website.
