JPG or PNG? ๐Ÿ“ท

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Iโ€™ve been providing my works in JPG format at a very high resolution (4096x2160).

No one has ever reported issues with quality, but Iโ€™m considering switching to PNG format.

PNG would keep the original quality without compression, but the total file size would be about 30% larger.

Iโ€™d love to know what you prefer:

Keep JPG (lighter files, still high resolution)

Switch to PNG (heavier files, but absolutely lossless quality)

To help you decide, Iโ€™ve prepared one sample image in both JPG and PNG format.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Please download both files, compare them on your own device, and see if you notice a difference.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Please click the link below and share your opinion through this short poll!

Your feedback will directly shape the format of my future releases ๐Ÿ’™

Starting from October, I will fix the format (JPG or PNG) based on the poll results.

Comments

I find that the lossy aspect of JPG isn't a problem until you're making multiple copies of an image and you're several instances away from the original. PNG is good but best suited towards flatter colours.

Riddles

Personally, my monitor is good enough (though my eyes aren't) that I don't notice much difference, and I have a good upscailer for those 'extra special pics/gifs' if I wish anything more. Sharing for the consideration of other folk ๐Ÿ˜‰
