Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Laughter

After climbing to the top of the treacherous Tower of Hera, Link stood in front of the final dungeon door. He knew behind it awaited the beast guarding the last Pendant he needed to save Princess Zelda. There was no turning back now.

Entering the boss chamber, Link could hear the frenzied stampeding from thousands of legs. It came from the giant segmented worm-like creature, Moldorm, scurrying wildly around the room. It moved with such speed, it almost seemed to be gliding along the floor. Link could see the thousands of tiny fluttering legs propelling the beast over the grated floor. The rhythmic flurry of leg was almost hypnotic, but Link quickly snapped out of it when he noticed the giant gems stone embedded in the monsters tail. That must be his weak point, Link thought to himself. He would have to be quick and agile to hit the gem without getting steamrolled by the wild worm.

Link leapt down into the grated battle arena and unsheathed his sword. As Moldorm charged around the room, Link would swing his blade. Hitting the worm's body would just results in Link getting knocked back from the recoil. He had to concentrate and only slash when the tail was near him. A few quick swipes at the gem and the worm would screech in pain. Moldorm then began to scurry around faster and faster.

Suddenly the worm ricocheted off a wall and v-lined straight at Link. The young warrior braced for impact, but the worm caught him off guard with a surprise move. Moldorm reared up and loomed over Link, looking like it was about to crush the hero. Link tried to jump out of the way, but was pulled back as long tentacles slithered out of the worm's underside and grabbed him. The tentacle yanked Link back, causing him to drop his sword and shield. He looked back in horror as the beast slammed down on him, pinning him against the metal grate floor.

Link was revealed to have survived the body slam, realizing the worm hadn't completely crushed him. Instead it seemed the worm was just pinning the hero in place underneath him. Link's relief soon dissolved as he felt Moldorm's tiny legs start to scurry again. Thousands and thousand of tiny feathery insect legs fluttered around the trapped hero, covering his entire body. There was no way for Link to squirm out from underneath the beast, as the tentacles were still holding him in place. Link just let out helpless laughter and giggles, as the beastly worm just wiggled on top of him.
