Future Render Quality.

A warning before just going "the best", I can render in 8k, but each render takes significantly longer, and I mean rendering at 8k can take ten times longer if the scene at that resolution exceeds my VRAM and I have to do it in bits, so if you all want 8k downscaled to 4k, this will mean significantly slower updates or smaller updates similar to the 200-300 render updates at the beginning of DLC. 6k will also take longer. 4k to 1080p is the plan currently unless this goes overwhelmingly to something else as it means no change to current production times, I just can't switch DLC at this stage without redoing all the initial renders or I would.
For reference, to begin with in DLC I rendered at 1920 x 1080p and downscaled to 1280 x 720p. I currently render at 4k downscaled to 1280 x 720p. Downscaling renders considerably increases image quality in a lot of circumstances which is why I do it to eliminate noise, sharpen the images etc. The bigger the resolution, also the bigger the download and on some PCs loading times etc, but the biggest thing to note is it means an increase in render times on all scenes. It is standard practice in the software I use to render at double the size of the end result.
The downscaled version is what the game would be played at, so a 1080p downscaled would mean the game is 1920 x 1080.
